Efficacy of Optically Pumped Magnetometers in Detecting Activity From the Cerebellar Cortex
We studied the utility of OPMs and conventional SQUID sensors in detecting cerebellar activity. Our results indicate clear benefits for OPMs in terms of sensitivity, lead‐field correlations between the cortex and the cerebellum, and total information, with these improvements already achievable with 102 triaxial OPM sensors covering the whole head ...

Effects of Age on Resting‐State Cortical Networks
ABSTRACT Understanding how ageing affects brain function remains a central challenge in neuroscience. Electrophysiological brain imaging techniques provide a near‐direct measure of neuronal activity, which is useful for characterising neurophysiological health.

Revolutionizing Pediatric Neurophysiology With Magnetoencephalography
ABSTRACT This paper considers the current and future use of magnetoencephalography (MEG) for assessing neural activity in children (birth to 18 years old), including the well‐established use of SQUID (Superconducting QUantum Interference Device) MEG technology as well as the very rapidly developing Optically Pumped Magnetometry (OPM) technology.

Design of an Integrated MEMS Magnetic Gradiometer Rejecting Vibrations and Stray Fields
Magnetic sensors are often used near current-carrying wires or electrical motors generating significant magnetic interference. To mitigate the effects of these stray fields, the traditional design approach relies on a differential sensing scheme ...

Determination of the Newtonian Gravitational Constant Using Atom Interferometry
We present a new measurement of the Newtonian gravitational constant G based on cold atom interferometry. Freely falling samples of laser-cooled rubidium atoms are used in a gravity gradiometer to probe the field generated by nearby source masses.

ABSTRACT Heartbeat‐evoked responses (HER), as measured by electroencephalography (EEG) or magnetoencephalography (MEG), represent neural activity time‐locked to heartbeats and are widely used as a marker of cardiac interoception in the study of brain–body interactions.

Atom interferometry with the Sr optical clock transition
We report on the realization of a matter-wave interferometer based on single-photon interaction on the ultra-narrow optical clock transition of strontium atoms. We experimentally demonstrated its operation as a gravimeter and as a gravity gradiometer. No
