Routes for GMR-Sensor Design in Non-Destructive Testing

open access: yesSensors, 2012
GMR sensors are widely used in many industrial segments such as information technology, automotive, automation and production, and safety applications. Each area requires an adaption of the sensor arrangement in terms of size adaption and alignment with ...

A compact unshielded optically pumped magnetic gradiometer

open access: yesReview of Scientific Instruments
Optically pumped magnetic gradiometers (OPG) play a crucial role in applications such as magnetic anomaly detection and biomagnetic measurements. This study classifies current OPG into four types based on their differential modes: voltage, frequency, optical rotation, and magnetic field differential modes.

Challenges and Opportunities in Multi‐Method Integrated Geophysical Prospection of Buried Building Remains at the Sanctuary of Olympia

open access: yesArchaeological Prospection, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Ancient Olympia was one of the most important sanctuaries and the venue for the Olympic Games in Greek and Roman times. Its remains are located in the Olympia Terrace (Peloponnese, Greece) at the present‐day confluence of the rivers Alpheios and Kladeos at the base of Mount Kronos.

Magnetic-field gradiometer based on ultracold collisions [PDF]

open access: yesPhysical Review A, 2018
We present a detailed analysis of the usefulness of ultracold atomic collisions for sensing the strength of an external magnetic field as well as its spatial gradient. The core idea of the sensor, which we recently proposed in K. Jachymski \emph{et al.}, Phys. Rev. Lett.

A Three‐Dimensional Structural Model for Predicting Magnetic Exchange and Hydrogen Positions in Bis‐μ‐Hydroxido Cu(II) Dimers

open access: yesEuropean Journal of Inorganic Chemistry, EarlyView.
Magneto‐structural correlation in bis‐μ‐hydroxido Cu(II) dimers: The out‐of‐plane angle (α) of bridging hydroxido groups critically influences the exchange coupling constant (J). A three‐dimensional correlation combining α and the Cu‐OH‐Cu angle (θ) enables computationally accurate J prediction.

Calibration of QM-MOURA three-axis magnetometer and gradiometer [PDF]

open access: yesGeoscientific Instrumentation, Methods and Data Systems, 2015
MOURA instrument is a three-axis magnetometer and gradiometer designed and developed for Mars MetNet Precursor mission. The initial scientific goal of the instrument is to measure the local magnetic field in the surroundings of the lander i.e.

Tensor coaxial calibration of magnetic sensor array

open access: yesXibei Gongye Daxue Xuebao, 2022
In order to effectively solve the influence of the magnetic sensor array error caused by axial inconsistency on the measurement accuracy, an array composed of four fluxgate sensors is built by using the Euler rotation matrix, and the consistency ...

Sleep magnetoencephalography enhances detection and source imaging of seizures and fast oscillations in focal cortical dysplasia

open access: yesEpilepsia, EarlyView.
Abstract Objective Focal cortical dysplasia (FCD) causes drug‐resistant epilepsy requiring presurgical evaluation. Invasive electroencephalographic (EEG) studies demonstrate that sleep modulates epileptic activity, including interictal epileptiform discharges (IEDs), fast oscillations (FOs) in the beta (14–40 Hz) and gamma (40–80 Hz) frequency bands ...

Observation of magnetism in Au thin films

open access: yes, 2006
Direct magnetization measurements of thin gold films are presented. These measurements integrate the signal from the thin film under study and the magnetic contribution of the film's interface with the substrate.
