Flow Enabled Target Capture Halbach‐based magnetic enrichment increases circulating tumor cell capture from blood in metastatic cancer patients

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Pair‐wise comparison of the CellSearch and FETCH enrichment technologies for circulating tumor cells (CTCs) from metastatic breast, prostate, and small cell lung cancer patients shows an increased capture of CTCs using FETCH enrichment. The clinical implementation of circulating tumor cells (CTCs) as a predictive tool for therapy efficacy in the ...

Classification of Nonferrous Metals Using Magnetic Induction Spectroscopy

open access: yesIEEE Transactions on Industrial Informatics, 2018
Recycling automotive, electronic, and other end-of-life waste liberates large quantities of metals, which can be returned to the supply chain. Sorting the nonferrous metals, however, is not straightforward.

A novel quinazolinone insulin receptor inhibitor and its synergy with an EGFR inhibitor in glucose‐driven glioblastoma

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
The novel styrylquinazolinone‐based molecule W1B effectively suppresses glioblastoma by inhibiting IGF1R and EGFR. In high‐glucose microenvironments driving tumor resistance, W1B acts synergistically with the EGFR inhibitor dacomitinib. This combination safely blocks compensatory survival signaling in zebrafish xenograft models. Showcasing promising in

Inductive Contactless Distance Measurement Intended for a Gastric Electrical Implant

open access: yesActa Polytechnica, 2007
For a gastric electrical stimulation project we are developing a system for on-demand switching according to the volume or elongation of the stomach wall. The system is to be implanted into the human abdomen, which limits the utilization of many possible

Data Collection Strategy for Magnetic Induction Based Monitoring in Underwater Sensor Networks

open access: yesIEEE Access, 2018
Underwater wireless sensor networks (UWSNs) based on magnetic induction (MI) have been recently proposed as a promising candidate for underwater networking due to its benefits, such as small transmission delay, low vulnerability to environment changes ...

Oncogenic DMTF1β promotes cancer cell motility by regulating autophagy through ULK1 stabilization

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
In the current study, we demonstrate that the oncogene DMTF1β regulates ULK1 stability by reducing its proteasomal degradation in cancer cells. This stabilization enables ULK1 to induce autophagy, which in turn facilitates cancer cell migration. Consequently, reduced DMTF1β levels lead to decreased autophagy and impaired cancer cell migration.

Analysis of Effects of Magnetic Slot Wedges on Characteristics of Large Induction Motors

open access: yes, 2011
Magnetic slot wedges are often used to improve starting performance of large induction motors. In this paper we have investigated – through simulation – the effects of the wedges on the performance characteristics of the motor and core losses under no ...

Tumour cell labelling by magnetic nanoparticles with determination of intracellular iron content and spatial distribution of the intracellular iron [PDF]

open access: yes, 2013
Magnetically labelled cells are used for in vivo cell tracking by MRI, used for the clinical translation of cell-base therapies. Studies involving magnetic labelled cells may include separation of labelled cells, targeted delivery and controlled release ...
