Phonon and magnon dynamics in CoFe/Pt multilayers
Femtosecond time-resolved spin and phonon wave dynamics were investigated in CoFe/Pt multilayers. Besides the spin and phonon dynamics simultaneous analysis, the high resolution and bandwidth (up to THz) of our approach allowed to estimate magnon’s group

Metasurfaces and other structured photonic environments can dramatically modify the absorption and/or light emission of semiconductors. However, the consequences of these changes on the temperature of the system are not well understood. The authors address this problem for colloidal nanocrystals and leverage their findings to convert light into ...

Perpendicular magnetism in magnetic multilayer systems [PDF]
Abstract The main aspects of the fully relativistic spin-polarized Screened Korringa–Kohn–Rostoker (KKR) method for layered systems (systems with only two-dimensional translational symmetry) are reviewed including, e.g., a discussion of the Dirac–Kohn–Sham Hamiltonian, magnetic configurations, the inhomogeneous coherent potential approximation (CPA ...

Thermoelectric effects in magnetic nanostructures [PDF]
Elektronentransport is een belangrijk natuurkundig verschijnsel dat vaak wordt gebruikt in de hedendaagse technologie. Alle elektrische apparaten, variërend van stofzuigers tot computerchips, zijn in principe gebaseerd op dit type transport.

MXene Wrapped Magnetic Mesocrystals for Durable Redox Catalytic Cancer Therapy and Responsive MRI
Conformal wrapping of ultrathin Ti3C2Tx MXene nanosheets on Fe3O4 mesocrystals creates topology‐stabilized Schottky junctions that direct photoinduced electron transfer under NIR irradiation. The unique architecture sustains Fenton catalysis, promotes continuous hydroxyl radical production, and provides photo‐responsive MRI contrast.

Biosensors with Magnetic Nanocomponents [PDF]
The selective and quantitative detection of biocomponents is greatly requested in biomedical applications and clinical diagnostics. Many traditional magnetic materials are not suitable for the ever-increasing demands of these processes.

Twin Crystal Moiré Metasurfaces for Crossing Flat‐Band Transport
This study introduces twin crystal moiré metasurfaces, breaking in‐plane symmetry to enable reconfigurable acoustic wave manipulation. By adjusting the twin angle and interlayer twist angle, various combinations of hyperbolic, flat bands, and elliptic states can be synthesized in the system.

Perpendicular Transport through Magnetic Multilayers
A theory of the perpendicular transport of electrons through metallic multilayers based on the Landauer-B\"uttiker formalism is presented and applied to the magnetoresistance of antiferromagnetically coupled magnetic multilayers. The contributions of contact potential, interface roughness, and bulk impurity scattering to the spin-selective transmission
