Magnetic dynamics in magnetic multilayers and spintronic devices

open access: yes, 2021
Xiao, John Q.A critical issue in spintronic devices is how to efficiently switch the magnetization of a nanomagnet. The switching is typically occurred at ferromagnetic resonant frequency.

Integrated Field‐Free SOT Domain‐Wall Synapses and MTJ Stochastic Neurons for Hardware Boltzmann Machines

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Field‐free spin‐orbit torque domain‐wall synapses integrated with stochastic MTJ neurons enable compact hardware Boltzmann machines. Leveraging intrinsic stochasticity and multi‐level conductance, the system achieves efficient probabilistic learning with high accuracy, demonstrating a scalable spintronic platform for energy‐efficient edge AI.

Evolution of microscopic domains in Co/Pt multilayers with perpendicular magnetic anisotropy

open access: yesTạp chí Khoa học Đại học Huế: Khoa học Tự nhiên
We investigated the domain evolutions of (0.3nm Co/0.8nm Pt)n multilayers (n = 5 and 10) with perpendicular magnetic anisotropy. Our direct observation of magnetic domain structures by means of magneto-optical microscopy reveals that under a negative ...

Magnetoimpedance in Symmetric and Non-Symmetric Nanostructured Multilayers: A Theoretical Study

open access: yesSensors, 2019
Intensive studies of the magnetoimpedance (MI) effect in nanostructured multilayers provide a good phenomenological basis and theoretical description for the symmetric case when top and bottom layers of ferromagnet/conductor/ferromagnet structure have ...

Multilayering BZO nanocolumns with different defect densities for YBCO high field applications

open access: yesNew Journal of Physics, 2021
The multilayer structures of alternating superconducting YBCO films doped with different BZO nanocolumn densities were utilized. We show that using 50 nm thick layers increases J _c in the whole angular range by maximum 40% as compared with 200 nm single

Resolving the Cu(bdc) Conundrum: Identifying Non‐Porous Packing of Prototypical Coordination‐Network Thin Films Combining Advanced Diffraction Techniques and Computational Modelling

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Solution‐processed Cu(bdc) forms prototypical MOF thin films for which a multitude of not fully satisfactory structural models have been suggested. Combining rotating grazing‐incidence diffraction and X‐ray reflectivity on two complementary samples with density‐functional theory, we first discard the previously suggested models and then identify a non ...

Ultrafast giant magnetic cooling effect in ferromagnetic Co/Pt multilayers

open access: yesNature Communications, 2017
The forced alignment of magnetic moments leads to a large change in entropy, which can be used to reduce the temperature of a material. Here, the authors show that this magnetic cooling effect occurs on a femtosecond time scale in cobalt–platinum nano ...

In situ transport characterization of magnetic states in Nb/Co superconductor/ferromagnet heterostructures

open access: yesBeilstein Journal of Nanotechnology, 2021
Employment of the non-trivial proximity effect in superconductor/ferromagnet (S/F) heterostructures for the creation of novel superconducting devices requires accurate control of magnetic states in complex thin-film multilayers.

Ferromagnetic resonance of quasiperiodic Au/Co Fibonacci multilayers: Magnetic anisotropy and interlayer coupling

open access: yes, 2019
Ferromagnetic resonance (FMR) study of quasiperiodic Au/Co Fibonacci multilayers revealed that uniform resonance modes related to the bulk Co and interface Au/Co regions of Co layers were excited in all multilayers.
