For the first time, multifunctional magnetic particles based rare cell isolation is demonstrated combined with the downstream laser desorption/ionization mass spectrometry (LDI‐MS) to measure the metabolism of enriched circulating tumor cells (CTCs). The

Magnetic particles with perpendicular anisotropy for mechanical cancer cell destruction
We demonstrate the effectiveness of out-of-plane magnetized magnetic microdiscs for cancer treatment through mechanical cell disruption under an applied rotating magnetic field. The magnetic particles are synthetic antiferromagnets formed from a repeated

The Interplay of Magnetically Dominated Turbulence and Magnetic Reconnection in Producing Nonthermal Particles [PDF]
Magnetized turbulence and magnetic reconnection are often invoked to explain the nonthermal emission observed from a wide variety of astrophysical sources.

Detection of Proteins Using Nano Magnetic Particle Accumulation-Based Signal Amplification
We report a biosensing method based on magnetic particles where coated magnetic particles are used for immunomagnetic separation, and uncoated magnetic particles are used for signal enhancement.

Propagation of solitons of the magnetization in magnetic nano-particle arrays [PDF]
It is clarified for the first time that solitons originating from the dipolar interaction in ferromagnetic nano-particle arrays are stably created. The characteristics can be well controlled by the strength of the dipolar interaction between particles and the shape anisotropy of the particle.

Non-reciprocal light diffraction by a vortex magnetic particle [PDF]
We report a theoretical study of light diffraction by a spherical magnetic particle with a vortex magnetization distribution. It is shown that the intensity of the diffracted light involves a non-reciprocal contribution. This contribution depends on the vorticity of particle magnetization.

Magnetized Particle Capture Cross Section for Braneworld Black Hole [PDF]
Capture cross section of magnetized particle (with nonzero magnetic moment) by braneworld black hole in uniform magnetic field is considered. The magnetic moment of particle was chosen as it was done by \citet{rs99} and for the simplicity particle with zero electric charge is chosen.

Gene vectors to treat cystic fibrosis lung disease should be targeted to the conducting airways, as peripheral lung transduction does not offer therapeutic benefit. Viral transduction efficiency is directly related to the vector residence time.

Integrable Magnetic Fluid Hyperthermia Systems for 3D Magnetic Particle Imaging [PDF]
Background: Combining magnetic particle imaging (MPI) and magnetic fluid hyperthermia (MFH) offers the ability to perform localized hyperthermia and magnetic particle imaging-assisted ther-mometry of hyperthermia treatment. This allows precise regional selective heating inside the body without invasive interventions.
