Effect of Dy substitution in the giant magnetocaloric properties of HoB$_{2}$

open access: yes, 2020
Recently, a massive magnetocaloric effect near the liquefaction temperature of hydrogen has been reported in the ferromagnetic material HoB$_{2}$. Here we investigate the effects of Dy substitution in the magnetocaloric properties of Ho$_{1-x}$Dy$_{x}$B ...

Comment on "Theoretical design of molecular nanomagnets for magnetic refrigeration" [Appl. Phys. Lett. 103, 202410 (2013)] [PDF]

open access: yes, 2014
Garlatti et al. [Appl. Phys. Lett. 103, 202410 (2013)] report theoretical simulations aimed at showing that the best molecular nanomagnets for magnetic refrigeration between T = 10 K and sub-Kelvin region are those made of strongly ferromagnetically ...

Magnetocaloric effect of Sr-substituted BaFeO3 in the liquid nitrogen and natural gas temperature regions

open access: yesAIP Advances, 2017
We have investigated the magnetocaloric effect (MCE) of Ba1-xSrxFe4+O3 (x≤0.2), a series of cubic perovskites showing a field-induced transition from helical antiferromagnetism to ferromagnetism.

Investigation of the triple peak magnetocaloric effects of Ni45Mn44Sn11 ribbons

open access: yesJournal of Materials Research and Technology, 2023
The magnetocaloric effect (MCE) of Ni45Mn44Sn11 ribbons is simulated, with temperatures ranging from nearly 0 K to 313 K. The MCE of these ribbons exhibits triple peak behavior.

Structural, Magnetocaloric, and Magnetic Properties in Heusler Ni50Mn35In10X5 (X = Ga, Fe and Al) Alloys

open access: yesMetals, 2023
The structural, magnetocaloric, and magnetic characteristics in Heusler Ni50Mn35In10X5 (X = Ga, Fe, and Al) alloys were examined using X-ray diffraction and field-dependent magnetization measurements.

Parameters affecting the efficiency of a heat transformer with a particular focus on the heat solution [PDF]

open access: yes, 2016
The heat transformer is a reverse cycle absorption machine, suitable for the direct exploitation of heat wastes and solar energy. Part of these wastes are “transformed” into thermal energy at a higher temperature than the one provided. Hence some studies

Magnetocaloric Effect in Uncoated Gd55Al20Co25 Amorphous Wires [PDF]

open access: yesMaterials Research, 2015
The Gd55Al20Co25 amorphous wires exhibit a relatively strong magnetocaloric effect (MCE). These melt-extracted amorphous wires display second-order magnetic transition (SOMT) and the value of maximal magnetic entropy (–ΔSm) for the melt-extracted wires ...
