Magnetic resonance cholangiopancreatography evaluation of intrahepatic bile duct variations with updated classification [PDF]

open access: yes, 2016
PURPOSE:Preoperative detection of intrahepatic bile duct (IHBD) variations is essential to reduce surgical morbidity and mortality rates. Magnetic resonance cholangiopancreatography (MRCP) is a noninvasive and reliable method for demonstrating the normal

Comparison of ERCP and MRCP Findings in Patients with Mechanical Jaundice

open access: yesHaseki Tıp Bülteni, 2014
Aim: Endoscopic retrograde cholangiopancreatography (ERCP) is used in the diagnosis and treatment of mechanical obstructive jaundice. Since ERCP is an invasive interventional procedure and because of its complications, ERCP should be supported by ...

Diagnostics of biliary dilatation by means of magnetic resonance cholangiopancreatography

open access: yes, 2014
Background: Magnetic resonance cholangiopancreatography is a relatively noninvasive technique of biliary and pancreatic duct imaging. MRCP technique utilizes T2-weighted sequences, in which bile is characterized by high signal intensity, whilst signal ...

Indoleamine 2,3‐Dioxygenase 1 as an Adjunctive Histopathological Marker of Cholangitis Activity in Primary Biliary Cholangitis

open access: yesHepatology Research, EarlyView.
IDO‐1 immunostaining identifies primary biliary cholangitis even in morphologically subtle bile duct lesions. IDO‐1 expression reflects cholangitis activity and is suppressed by ursodeoxycholic acid treatment, indicating its value as a dynamic diagnostic adjunct rather than a static marker of chronic damage.
