A Dedicated Genetic Algorithm for Localization of Moving Magnetic Objects

open access: yesSensors, 2015
A dedicated Genetic Algorithm (GA) has been developed to localize the trajectory of ferromagnetic moving objects within a bounded perimeter. Localization of moving ferromagnetic objects is an important tool because it can be employed in situations when ...

Electromagnetic characterization of transparent conducting thin films using two‐port flange coaxial probe and thin‐film transfer matrix method

open access: yesIET Microwaves, Antennas & Propagation, 2021
An efficient method to determine the electromagnetic characteristics of transparent conducting oxide (TCO) thin films is presented herein. When a two‐port flange coaxial probe is used for electromagnetic characterization, it is important to note that ...

Hyperosmotic stress induces PARP1‐mediated HPF1‐dependent mono(ADP‐ribosyl)ation

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Sorbitol‐induced hyperosmotic stress rapidly induces reversible mono(ADP‐ribosyl)ation (MARylation) on PARP1 without the signs of genotoxic signaling. We show that PARP1 autoMARylation is HPF1 dependent and forms hydroxylamine‐resistant O‐glycosidic linkages.

Monitoring of ULF (Ultra-Low-Frequency) Geomagnetic Variations Associated with Earthquakes

open access: yesSensors, 2007
ULF (ultra-low-frequency) electromagnetic emission is recently recognized as one of the most promising candidates for short-term earthquake prediction.

Non-Destructive Testing Using Eddy Current Sensors for Defect Detection in Additively Manufactured Titanium and Stainless-Steel Parts

open access: yesSensors, 2022
In this study, different eddy-current based probe designs (absolute and commercial reflection) are used to detect artificial defects with different sizes and at different depths in parts composed of stainless-steel (316) and titanium (TI-64) made by ...

Modulation of Homer1 EVH1 domain internal dynamics by putative autism‐associated mutations

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
The putative autism‐associated M65I and S97L variants of the EVH1 domain of the postsynaptic scaffold protein Homer1 do not exhibit substantial changes in their overall structure or partner binding. Both of them, but especially the M65I variant, show altered internal dynamics relative to the wild‐type domain on the μs‐ms timescale, indicated by the ...

Longitudinal spatial characterisation of optical fibre erbium distributed feedback laser under the motion of steady magnetic field

open access: yes, 2014
The spatial sensitivity of an erbium doped optical fibre distributed feedback (DFB) laser to an external magnetic field is reported. Intrinsic birefringence of the laser cavity allows lasing in two orthogonal modes.

Measurement and Evaluation of Finger Tapping Movements Using Log-linearized Gaussian Mixture Networks

open access: yesSensors, 2009
This paper proposes a method to quantitatively measure and evaluate finger tapping movements for the assessment of motor function using log-linearized Gaussian mixture networks (LLGMNs). First, finger tapping movements are measured using magnetic sensors,

TRAIL‐PEG‐Apt‐PLGA nanosystem as an aptamer‐targeted drug delivery system potential for triple‐negative breast cancer therapy using in vivo mouse model

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Aptamers are used both therapeutically and as targeting agents in cancer treatment. We developed an aptamer‐targeted PLGA–TRAIL nanosystem that exhibited superior therapeutic efficacy in NOD/SCID breast cancer models. This nanosystem represents a novel biotechnological drug candidate for suppressing resistance development in breast cancer.

Anomalous Nernst Effect in Flexible Co-Based Amorphous Ribbons

open access: yesSensors, 2023
Fe3Co67Cr3Si15B12 ribbons with a high degree of flexibility and excellent corrosion stability were produced by rapid quenching technique. Their structural, magnetic, and thermomagnetic (Anomalous Nernst Effect) properties were studied both in an as ...
