4D‐Printed Magneto‐Plasmonic Microrobots for Programmable Spatiotemporal De‐Icing

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
A 4D‐printing strategy is introduced to achieve programmable de‐icing devices. By aligning gold–magnetite nanofillers within a photosensitive resin, the printed structures exhibit dual magnetic and plasmonic functionalities, enabling precise spatio‐temporal ice removal through thermoplasmonic effects.

Russian geomagnetic recordings in 1850–1862 compared to modern observations

open access: yesJournal of Space Weather and Space Climate, 2014
We analyse geomagnetic recordings at four subauroral and midlatitude Russian observatories in 1850–1862. The data consist of spot readings made once in hour of the north and east components of the magnetic field.

Investigation of the Physical Mechanisms of the Formation and Evolution of Equatorial Plasma Bubbles During a Moderate Storm on 17 September 2021

open access: yesSpace Weather, 2023
We investigate in detail the occurrence and evolution of ionospheric equatorial plasma bubbles (EPBs) during a moderate storm on 17 September 2021, using Global‐scale Observations of the Limb and Disk (GOLD) observations and Whole Atmosphere Community ...

A Study of the Morphology of Magnetic Storms: Moderate Magnetic Storms [PDF]

open access: yes, 1957
Some average characteristics are determined for 136 moderate magnetic storms with sudden commencements that occurred during the interval 1902-1945.

Photon Avalanching Nanoparticles: The Next Generation of Upconverting Nanomaterials?

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
This Perspective outlines the mechanistic foundations that enable photon‐avalanche (PA) behavior in lanthanide nanomaterials and contrasts them with emerging application spaces and forward‐looking design strategies. By bridging threshold engineering, energy‐transfer dynamics, and materials engineering, we provide a coherent roadmap for advancing the ...

Geoelectric hazard assessment: the differences of geoelectric responses during magnetic storms within common physiographic zones

open access: yesEarth, Planets and Space, 2018
Geomagnetic field data obtained through the INTERMAGNET program are convolved with with magnetotelluric surface impedance from four EarthScope USArray sites to estimate the geoelectric variations throughout the duration of a magnetic storm. A duration of

Seasonal variations in the occurrence of geomagnetic storms [PDF]

open access: yesAnnales Geophysicae, 1996
Seasonal variations in the onset of magnetic storms are investigated. For the purposes of this study storms have been defined as events in which Dst falls below –50 nT for at least four consecutive hours.

Coagulative Granular Hydrogels with an Enzyme Catalyzed Fibrin Network for Endogenous Tissue Regeneration

open access: yesAdvanced Healthcare Materials, EarlyView.
Coagulative granular hydrogels are composed of packed thrombin‐functionalized microgels that catalyze the conversion of fibrinogen into a secondary fibrin network, filling the interstitial voids. This bio‐inspired approach stabilizes the biomaterial to match the robustness of bulk hydrogels without compromising injectability, mimicking the initial ...

STUDY ON RELATIONSHIP OF MAGNETOSPHERIC SUBSTORM AND MAGNETIC STORM [PDF]

open access: yes, 2009
Magnetic storm is generated magnetic reconnection between interplanetary magnetic field (IMF) and Earth’s magnetic field at the dayside. The magnetic reconnection is accompanied with growth of ring current. Magnetospheric substorm is night-time phenomena
