Iron‐dependent lysosomal LDL oxidation induces the expression of scavenger receptor A in human THP‐1 monocytes

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
In human monocytic cells THP‐1, a limited uptake of native—not oxidized—LDL/VLDL induced expression of scavenger receptor A and cellular adhesion. Induction was inhibited by lysosomotropic (WR‐1065) and lipophilic (BHT) antioxidants and by siRNAs against ferritinophagy.

Functional parameters of spermatozoa obtained by a new selection device

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
This study compares density gradient centrifugation and the LensHooke CA0™ device for sperm separation. DGC requires multiple steps, specialized equipment, and technical expertise. In contrast, the CA0 device offers key practical and methodological advantages, resulting in a faster, simpler, and more affordable sperm selection method.

Microfluidic electro‐viscoelastic manipulation of extracellular vesicles

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
The electro‐viscoelastic manipulation as a potential method for separation of particles based on size. The particles introduced as a sheath flow migrate to the channel center under the influence of simultaneously applied electric field and pressure driven flow.

Exploring phase formation and magnetic transitions in Sm(Fe1−xMnx)14B by Mössbauer spectroscopy

open access: yesAIP Advances
The Sm2(Fe1−xMnx)14B (0 ≤ x ≤ 0.3) rare earth alloy was prepared by a reduction-diffusion method, and a corresponding reduction-diffusion model was established.

NMR screening of low molecular weight inhibitors targeting the papain‐like protease (PLPro) of SARS‐CoV‐2

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Papain‐like protease from SARS‐CoV‐2 plays an important role in the cleavage of the viral polyproteins and in the suppression of the host's immune response. Here, we present the results of an NMR screening study. We identified 86 binding compounds, of which five candidates were chosen for in‐depth analysis.

A Conserved Vector Current test using low energy beta-beams

open access: yes, 2006
We discuss the possibility of testing the weak currents and, in particular, the weak magnetism term through the measurement of the electron anti-neutrinos capture by protons at a low energy beta-beam facility.

Research on Magnetism and Magnetization Intensity of Magnetic Fluid

open access: yesJournal of Physics: Conference Series, 2020
Abstract Magnetic fluid is a liquid magnetic material with high magnetization, fluidity and superparamagnetism. The composition and the performance of magnetic fluid in magnetic field were introduced. Magnetic model of magnetic fluid for application was established.

Characterization of WAC interactions with R2TP and TTT chaperone complexes linking glucose and glutamine availability to mTORC1 activity

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
TTT and R2TP chaperone complexes are required for the assembly and activation of mTORC1. WAC directly interacts with components of TTT, R2TP, and mTORC1, and these interactions are affected by the availability of glucose and glutamine, correlating with changes in mTORC1 activity.

Mitochondrial DNA disorders in neuromuscular diseases in diverse populations

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.
Abstract Neuromuscular features are common in mitochondrial DNA (mtDNA) disorders. The genetic architecture of mtDNA disorders in diverse populations is poorly understood. We analysed mtDNA variants from whole‐exome sequencing data in neuromuscular patients from South Africa, Brazil, India, Turkey and Zambia. In 998 individuals, there were two definite
