Fabrication and magneto-optical property of yttria stabilized Tb2O3 transparent ceramics

Journal of the European Ceramic Society, 2019
Abstract (Tb0.5Y0.5)2O3 transparent ceramics have been prepared by wet chemical co-precipitation route and flowing H2 atmosphere sintering. The optical quality, microstructure and magneto-optical properties of the ceramics were investigated. No sintering aids or milling were adopted in the ceramic fabrication processing.

Fabrication and characterizations of (Tb1-xPrx)3Al5O12 magneto-optical ceramics for Faraday isolators

Optical Materials, 2018
Abstract Praseodymium doped terbium aluminum garnet (Pr:TAG) magneto-optical ceramics with different doping concentrations were fabricated by vacuum pre-sintering and hot isostatic pressing (HIP) post-treatment from the co-precipitated Pr:TAG nanopowders.

Terahertz Magneto-optical Properties of Hexaferrite Ceramics

2021 46th International Conference on Infrared, Millimeter and Terahertz Waves (IRMMW-THz), 2021
In this work, we performed an investigation of the terahertz magneto-optical effect in barium and strontium hexaferrite ceramics with various compositions. The Faraday rotation of the samples taking into account the insertion losses were evaluated.

Magneto-optical properties of sesquioxide ceramics

2020 International Conference Laser Optics (ICLO), 2020
The report presents studying results of optical and magneto-optical properties of transparent sesquioxide ceramics REE 2 O 3 (REE=Tb, Dy, Ho, Er). Dependences of the Verdet constant on wavelength and temperature are measured and analytical approximations are founded.

MOCVD of Magneto-Optical Ceramics

MRS Proceedings, 1993
AbstractBismuth-substituted yttrium iron garnet, BixY1−xFe5O12 thin films have been epitaxially grown on a Gd3Ga5O12 (111) substrate at 750°C under reduced pressure (6 Torr), with a deposition rate of 20∼50nm·min−1 by MOCVD. The maximum value of Faraday rotation was −7.5×104deg·cm−1at a Bi-content of 2.5 atoms per formula unit.

Fabrication and characterizations of holmium oxide based magneto-optical ceramics

Optical Materials, 2020
Abstract A significant improvement in the sintering of Ho2O3 powders obtained by self-propagating high-temperature synthesis as a result of the addition of lanthanum oxide was made. It was found that the addition of 5% lanthanum oxide slightly affects the Verdet constant value (which is ~1.3 times higher than the corresponding value for terbium ...

Preparation and properties of novel Tb3Sc2Al3O12 (TSAG) magneto-optical transparent ceramic

Journal of the European Ceramic Society, 2021
Abstract Novel Tb3Sc2Al3O12 (TSAG) magneto-optical transparent ceramic was fabricated by vacuum sintering. The phase composition, microstructure, optical quality, thermal properties, and magneto-optical properties of TSAG ceramic were measured. It is shown that the increase in holding time has an effect on the grain size of TSAG ceramic.

Fabrication and magneto-optical properties of TGG transparent ceramics

Physica B: Condensed Matter, 2019
Abstract Terbium gallium garnet (Tb3Ga5O12, TGG) transparent ceramics were synthesized by the co-precipitated method and vacuum sintering with MgO as sintering aids. Samples sintered at 1500 °C, 1550 °C and 1600 °C for 20 h were utilized to examine the phase compositions, optical quality, microstructure and magneto-optical property. X-ray diffraction
