Magneto-optical characteristics of holmium oxide (Ho_2O_3) ceramics

open access: yesOptical Materials Express, 2017
Transparent Ho2O3 ceramics are fabricated and their magneto-optical characteristics are reported for the first time, to the best of our knowledge. The value of the Verdet constant was measured in the 560–1064 nm wavelength range, and the value at 1064 nm is 46.3 rad/Tm. This corresponds to the Verdet constant for terbium aluminum garnet (TAG), which is

Effect of Y substitution on the microstructure, magneto-optical, and thermal properties of (Tb1−xYx)3Al5O12 transparent ceramics

open access: yesJournal of Advanced Ceramics
Faraday isolators can prevent the front-end system from disturbance and damage caused by a back-reflected beam, so they are important elements in laser systems.

Wavelength dependence of magneto-optic properties of terbium gallium garnet ceramics

open access: yesOptics Express, 2015
The wavelength dependence of magneto-optic properties of TGG ceramics, including the Verdet constant, has been investigated experimentally. The previously obtained Verdet constant of 36.4 rad/Tm for 1064 nm wavelength and 139.6 rad/Tm for 633 nm are in good agreement with presented white light measurements .
