Magnetoelectric Control of Superparamagnetism

Nano Letters, 2013
Here we demonstrate electric-field induced magnetic anisotropy in a multiferroic composite containing nickel nanocrystals strain coupled to a piezoelectric substrate. This system can be switched between a superparamagnetic state and a single-domain ferromagnetic state at room temperature.

Magnetoelectric Radical Hydrocarbons

Advanced Materials, 2018
AbstractThe molecular radicals, systems with unpaired electrons of open‐shell electronic structures, set the stage for a multidisciplinary science frontier relevant to the cooperative magnetic exchange interaction and magnetoelectric effect. Here ferroelectricity together with magnetic spin exchange coupling in molecular radical hydrocarbon solids is ...

Magnetoelectric Anisotropy in Diffusive Transport

Physical Review Letters, 2005
In this Letter we prove the existence of a new general diffusive transport phenomenon in crossed electric and magnetic fields: magnetoelectric anisotropy. For the specific case of diffusive electrical transport, we present a relativistic model to quantify this effect and present experimental evidence for its existence.

Enhancement of magnetoelectric properties in a surface-mount magnetoelectric device

Wuhan University Journal of Natural Sciences, 2016
The fabrication and properties of a novel double layered surface-mount magnetoelectric (ME) device are investigated and reported. This ME device is made up of two opposite polarized piezoelectric PZT slices bonded on the same side of a magnetostrictive material Metglas, forming a novel two PZT in-series device.

Theoretical investigation of magnetoelectric effect in multilayer magnetoelectric composites

Composite Structures, 2015
Abstract The aim of this paper is the modeling of an arbitrary magneto–elasto-electric multilayer constitute by magnetostrictive, piezoelectric and elastic substrate layers under free–free boundary conditions. A dynamic theory corresponding to the driving frequency of magnetoelectric (ME) response coupled flexural and extensional oscillations was ...

Magnetoelectric relaxor

Applied Physics Letters, 2007
The site and charge disordered solid solution 0.8Pb(Fe1∕2Nb1∕2)O3–0.2Pb(Mg1∕2W1∕2)O3 is a magnetoelectric relaxor which shows broad and frequency dependent maxima both in the electric as well as in the magnetic susceptibilities. The Vogel-Fulcher-type electric relaxor freeze-out is accompanied by a significant magnetic anomaly demonstrating ...

Multiplied magnetoelectric effect in multi-faceted magnetoelectric composite

Applied Physics Letters, 2014
A four-faceted magnetoelectric (ME) composite consisting of one cuboid bonded Terfenol-D composite and four plates of Pb(Zr,Ti)O3 (PZT) was fabricated. The ME voltage coefficients were measured along the length direction of the composite when PZT plates were parallelly or serially connected.

Structural, magnetic and magnetoelectric properties of the magnetoelectric composite material

Journal of Materials Science: Materials in Electronics, 2014
(x) CoFe2O4 + (1 − x) Ba0.9Sr0.1TiO3 magnetoelectric (ME) composites with x = 0.1, 0.2, 0.3, 0.4 and 0.5 were prepared by a conventional standard double sintering ceramic method. The magnetic and ME properties of composites consisting of cobalt ferrite (CoFe2O4) and barium strontium titanate (Ba0.9Sr0.1TiO3) were investigated.

Study of magnetoelectric elements characteristics for magnetoelectric synchronous generator

Vestnik NovSU
The paper is devoted to the study of the characteristics of magnetoelectric elements for a magnetoelectric synchronous generator. Two types of ME elements with different geometric dimensions of 70 × 12 × 0.54 mm and 30 × 10 × 0.54 mm were considered in the framework of the study. The influence of the dimensions of the generator magnetoelectric elements
