Colossal Magnetoelectric Effect in Core–Shell Magnetoelectric Nanoparticles

Nano Letters, 2020
Magnetoelectric coefficient values of above 5 and 2 V cm-1 Oe-1 in 20 nm CoFe2O4-BaTiO3 and NiFe2O4-BaTiO3 core-shell magnetoelectric nanoparticles were demonstrated. These colossal values, compared to 0.1 V cm-1 Oe-1 commonly reported for the 0-3 system, are attributed to (i) the heterostructural lattice-matched interface between the magnetostrictive ...

Magnetoelectric hysteresis of a bilayered magnetoelectric composite

Emerging Materials Research, 2019
A bilayered magnetoelectric composite has been fabricated by bonding a magnetostrictive layer Terfenol-D and a piezoelectric layer Pb(Zr0·52Ti0·48)O3 together. The magnetoelectric hysteresis behavior of the magnetoelectric composite has been investigated.

Magnetoelectric Control of Superparamagnetism

Nano Letters, 2013
Here we demonstrate electric-field induced magnetic anisotropy in a multiferroic composite containing nickel nanocrystals strain coupled to a piezoelectric substrate. This system can be switched between a superparamagnetic state and a single-domain ferromagnetic state at room temperature.

Magnetoelectric Radical Hydrocarbons

Advanced Materials, 2018
AbstractThe molecular radicals, systems with unpaired electrons of open‐shell electronic structures, set the stage for a multidisciplinary science frontier relevant to the cooperative magnetic exchange interaction and magnetoelectric effect. Here ferroelectricity together with magnetic spin exchange coupling in molecular radical hydrocarbon solids is ...

Multiplied magnetoelectric effect in multi-faceted magnetoelectric composite

Applied Physics Letters, 2014
A four-faceted magnetoelectric (ME) composite consisting of one cuboid bonded Terfenol-D composite and four plates of Pb(Zr,Ti)O3 (PZT) was fabricated. The ME voltage coefficients were measured along the length direction of the composite when PZT plates were parallelly or serially connected.
