Magnetohydrodynamics and Electrohydrodynamics
The Physics of Fluids, 1962A close analogy is found and mathematically investigated between the dynamic behavior of a plasma in a magnetic field and that of a unipolarly charged fluid in an electric field. The general equations and some of their broad consequences are discussed. Unidirectional flow, small disturbances, and stability are compared for the two systems.

On the ?projective? magnetohydrodynamics
General Relativity and Gravitation, 1980In the “projective relativity” based on the de Sitter universe, Maxwell's generalized theory gives us the magnetohydrodynamics, valid on a cosmic scale, for hyperdense matter and high energies. From the new theory can be deduced as “limiting cases” the hydrodynamics and thermohydrodynamics, the ideal magnetohydrodynamics, the electromagnetism, and the ...

Numerical Magnetohydrodynamics
Fusion Science and Technology, 2008The ideal MagnetoHydroDynamic (MHD) equations accurately describe the macroscopic dynamics of a perfectly conducting plasma. Adopting a continuum, single fluid description in terms of the plasma density rho, velocity v, thermal pressure p and magnetic field B, the ideal MHD system expresses conservation of mass, momentum, energy, and magnetic flux ...

Magnetohydrodynamic Flow with Hysteresis
SIAM Journal on Mathematical Analysis, 2009We consider a model system describing the 2D flow of a conducting fluid surrounded by a ferromagnetic solid under the influence of the hysteretic response of the surrounding medium. We assume that this influence can be represented by the Preisach hysteresis operator. Existence and uniqueness of solutions for the resulting system of PDEs with hysteresis

Notes on the Eigensystem of Magnetohydrodynamics
SIAM Journal on Applied Mathematics, 1996Summary: The eigenstructure of the equations governing one-dimensional ideal magnetohydrodynamics is examined, motivated by the wish to exploit it for construction of high-resolution computational algorithms. The results are given in simple forms that avoid indeterminacy or degeneracy whenever possible.

Physics Today, 1958
The week of December 16, 1957, was a busy one for physicists in the Stanford area, with no less than three major meetings taking place: a symposium on magnetohydrodynamics, a conference on nuclear sizes, and, finally, the regular west coast winter meeting of the American Physical Society.
