Magnetic training of the soft magnetorheological elastomers
The effect of repetitive quasi-static magnetisation of a magnetorheological elastomer on its magnetic response is discussed. Typical components of this material, namely soft silicone rubber and carbonyl iron powder, are used to produce magnetically sensitive composite samples. The composite specimens are examined by vibrating sample magnetometry.

Thermoresistance and giant magnetoresistance of magnetorheological elastomers [PDF]
A new magnetorheological elastomer composite (MRE) was developed with a resistance which is strongly sensitive both to temperature and pressure. The electrical resistance of this MRE was investigated versus pressure and temperature. The resistance of the composite was recorded versus pressure for seven different values of the temperature. The mechanism

Dielectric elastomer actuator biased by magnetorheological elastomer with permanent magnet
Abstract Dielectric elastomer actuators have become one of the most important smart material transducers in recent times. One of the crucial aspects in this field is the application of bias to find the best operating conditions. The basic task is to find the proper bias configuration to obtain a wide range of displacements in the ...

Longitudinal vibrations due to different external excitations are omnipresent in almost every machine, eventually leading to unplanned downtime, and in some cases, catastrophic failures. The passive approach to isolate such vibration has some limitations.

Hybrid magnetorheological elastomers enable versatile soft actuators
Recent advances in magnetorheological elastomers (MREs) have posed the question on whether the combination of both soft- and hard-magnetic particles may open new routes to design versatile multifunctional actuators.
