Wireless Power Transfer Modalities for Implantable Bioelectronics: Electromagnetic, Acoustic, and Magneto‐Dynamic Perspectives

open access: yesAdvanced Materials Technologies, Volume 11, Issue 5, 6 March 2026.
This review traces the evolution of wireless power transfer (WPT) for implantable medical devices, spanning electromagnetic, magnetoelectric, acoustic, and magneto‐dynamic systems. Quantitative comparisons of power, distance, and device scale highlight trade‐offs across modalities, while emerging hybrid mechanisms reveal strategies to overcome ...

Magnetic transitions and magnetodielectric effect in the antiferromagnet SrNdFeO$_4$

open access: yes, 2012
We investigated the magnetic phase diagram of single crystals of SrNdFeO$_{4}$ by measuring the magnetic properties, the specific heat and the dielectric permittivity. The system has two magnetically active ions, Fe$^{3+}$ and Nd$^{3+}$.

Water‐Efficient Smart Drip Irrigation Enabled by a Low‐Power and High‐Efficiency Flexible Electromagnetic Actuator

open access: yesAdvanced Science, Volume 13, Issue 18, 27 March 2026.
Water scarcity poses a critical threat to global food security. A low‐power, flexible electromagnetic actuator is presented for smart drip irrigation systems. The device achieves precise, wide‐range flow modulation (0.05–5.8 mL/min) in response to real‐time plant demands, reducing water consumption compared to conventional flood irrigation.

Modeling of torsion stress giant magnetoimpedance in amorphous wires with negative magnetostriction

open access: yes, 2007
A model describing the influence of torsion stress on the giant magnetoimpedance in amorphous wires with negative magnetostriction is proposed. The wire impedance is found by means of the solution of Maxwell equations together with the Landau-Lifshitz ...

Modeling and experimental analysis of magnetostriction in high strength steels

open access: yesEPJ Web of Conferences, 2013
Previous studies on the magnetostriction in high strength steels have ignored the internal anisotropies due to previous material handling. Cold-rolling an iron alloy will stretch and distort the magnetic domains in the direction of rolling. These altered

Texture development in magnetostrictive Fe-Ga alloys processed by laser powder bed fusion

open access: yesMaterials & Design
Iron-gallium (Fe-Ga, Galfenol) alloys are promising magnetostrictive materials for actuators, sensors, and energy harvesting, but their performance is highly sensitive to microstructure and texture. Additive manufacturing by laser powder bed fusion (LPBF)

Effect of cooling rate on magnetostriction gradients of Tb0.27Dy0.73Fe1.95 alloys solidified in high magnetic field gradients

open access: yesAIP Advances, 2016
In this work, Tb0.27Dy0.73Fe1.95 alloys were solidified in a high magnetic field gradient (8.8 T, -565 T2/m) at various cooling rates. Changes in the magnetostriction, crystal orientation, and magnetization of the alloys were investigated.
