Flow Enabled Target Capture Halbach‐based magnetic enrichment increases circulating tumor cell capture from blood in metastatic cancer patients

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Pair‐wise comparison of the CellSearch and FETCH enrichment technologies for circulating tumor cells (CTCs) from metastatic breast, prostate, and small cell lung cancer patients shows an increased capture of CTCs using FETCH enrichment. The clinical implementation of circulating tumor cells (CTCs) as a predictive tool for therapy efficacy in the ...

GEANT4 Studies of Magnets Activation in the HEBT Line for the European Spallation Source

open access: yes, 2013
The High Energy Beam Transport (HEBT) line for the European Spallation Source is designed to transport the beam from the underground linac to the target at the surface level while keeping the beam losses small and providing the requested beam footprint ...

Low-Coordinate Erbium(III) Single-Molecule Magnets with Photochromic Behavior

open access: yes, 2022
The structure and magnetic properties of photo-responsive magnets can be controlled or fine-tuned by visible light irradiation which makes them appealing as candidates for ternary memory devices: photochromic and photomagnetic at the same time.

A novel quinazolinone insulin receptor inhibitor and its synergy with an EGFR inhibitor in glucose‐driven glioblastoma

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
The novel styrylquinazolinone‐based molecule W1B effectively suppresses glioblastoma by inhibiting IGF1R and EGFR. In high‐glucose microenvironments driving tumor resistance, W1B acts synergistically with the EGFR inhibitor dacomitinib. This combination safely blocks compensatory survival signaling in zebrafish xenograft models. Showcasing promising in

Laser Powder Bed Fusion of Nd-Fe-B Permanent Magnets: Solving the Optimization Problem using Design of Experiments and Statistics

open access: yes, 2022
Additive manufacturing of Nd-Fe-B permanent magnets by means of Laser powder bed fusions (LPBF) offers the possibility to overcome geometrical restrictions of the traditional powder metallurgical fabrication route for sintered magnets. LPBF is a layer-by-

Oncogenic DMTF1β promotes cancer cell motility by regulating autophagy through ULK1 stabilization

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
In the current study, we demonstrate that the oncogene DMTF1β regulates ULK1 stability by reducing its proteasomal degradation in cancer cells. This stabilization enables ULK1 to induce autophagy, which in turn facilitates cancer cell migration. Consequently, reduced DMTF1β levels lead to decreased autophagy and impaired cancer cell migration.

Advanced measurement systems based on digital processing techniques for superconducting LHC magnets

open access: yes, 2006
The Large Hadron Collider (LHC), a particle accelerator aimed at exploring deeper into matter than ever before, is currently being constructed at CERN. Beam optics of the LHC, requires stringent control of the field quality of about 8400 superconducting ...

Origin of coercivity difference in Nd-Y-Fe-B single-main-phase and multi-main-phase magnets: Role of core–shell structures

open access: yesMaterials & Design
Nd-Fe-B magnets with 30 at.% Y substitution were prepared using single-main-phase (SMP) and multi-main-phase (MMP) techniques to investigate the differences in magnetic properties and microstructures between spontaneously formed core–shell structures in ...

Single‐molecule DNA flow‐stretch assays for high‐throughput DNA–protein interaction studies

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
We describe an optimised single‐molecule DNA flow‐stretch assay that visualises DNA–protein interactions in real time. Linear DNA fragments are tethered to a surface and stretched by buffer flow for fluorescence imaging. Using λ and φX174 DNA, this protocol enhances reproducibility and accessibility, providing a versatile approach for studying diverse ...

Critical dynamics of magnets [PDF]

open access: yes, 1994
We review our current understanding of the critical dynamics of magnets above and below the transition temperature with focus on the effects due to the dipole-dipole interaction present in all real magnets.
