Lymphocyte Subpopulations in Maintenance Hemodialysis Patients
Journal of Dialysis, 1978Lymphocyte counts and T,B and null cell proportions were analyzed in forty non-splenectomized, non-nephrectomized maintenance hemodialysis patients, and compared with those in controls. The patients were lymphopenic, but had normal T, B and null cell percentages, regardless of tehir primary renal disease.

Pruritus in Patients on Maintenance Hemodialysis
Acta Medica Scandinavica, 1988ABSTRACT Twenty‐nine patients undergoing maintenance hemodialysis were examined for dermatologic symptoms. Nineteen patients (66%) complained of pruritus, which was classified as mild (34%), moderate (24%), and severe (8%). Patients with pruritus did not differ from those without pruritus regarding serum concentrations of creatinine, urea, calcium ...

Penile calcification in maintenance hemodialysis patients
Urology, 1992Penile calcification was detected in 6 of 32 patients (19%) with end-stage renal disease (ESRD) using soft tissue x-ray techniques. Having been maintained on hemodialysis for a minimum of one year, all the affected patients showed clinical evidence of secondary hyperparathyroidism and calcification in the blood vessels of some other tissues.

Vascular Calcification in Maintenance Hemodialysis Patients
Blood Purification, 2009Background: The objective was to investigate the status of vascular calcification, and to explore factors influencing vascular calcification in maintenance hemodialysis patients. Methods: Vascular calcification was quantitatively evaluated using radiographic films of the abdomen, pelvis and hands.

Accelerated Atherosclerosis in Prolonged Maintenance Hemodialysis
New England Journal of Medicine, 1974Abstract The survival experience of 39 patients receiving long-term regular hemodialysis in Seattle since 1960 was studied with particular reference to mortality and morbidity from arteriosclerotic cardiovascular complications. Mean age (± 1 S.D.) was 37.0 ± 9.5 years for the group at the start of dialysis.

Maintenance Hemodialysis During Infancy
2011Recent reports have indicated an increased incidence of very young patients diagnosed with and treated for end-stage renal disease (ESRD). The main diagnostic categories contributing to this increase are hereditary and congenital disorders and hemolytic uremic syndrome [1].

Tuberculosis in patients undergoing maintenance hemodialysis
The American Journal of Medicine, 1979Tuberculosis was diagnosed in eight patients undergoing maintenance hemodialysis and occurred with an incidence 10 times that of the general population. Dialysis-associated tuberculosis is characterized by intermittent fever, anorexia, weight loss and hepatomegaly. Ascites was present in 50 per cent of the patients.

Over-Decade Maintenance Hemodialysis
1982Anemia is an almost invariable component of the uremic syndrome. The pathogenesis of uremic anemia has been related to: (1) failure of renal excretory function resulting in a metabolic and/or mechanical environment unfavorable to red cells; (2) subnormal red cell iron utilization; (3) decreased marrow responsiveness to erythropoietin; (4) the effect of
