Majorization and semidoubly stochastic operators on L 1 ( X ) $L^{1}(X)$

open access: yesJournal of Inequalities and Applications, 2023
This paper is devoted to a study of majorization based on semidoubly stochastic operators (denoted by S D ( L 1 ) $S\mathcal{D}(L^{1})$ ) on L 1 ( X ) $L^{1}(X)$ when X is a σ-finite measure space.

Sub-Poissonian and anti-bunching criteria via majorization of statistics

open access: yes, 2015
We use majorization and confidence intervals as a convenient tool to compare the uncertainty in photon number for different quantum light states. To this end majorization is formulated in terms of confidence intervals.

Trumping and Power Majorization [PDF]

open access: yes, 2015
Majorization is a basic concept in matrix theory that has found applications in numerous settings over the past century. Power majorization is a more specialized notion that has been studied in the theory of inequalities.

Quantum Operations, State Transformations and Probabilities [PDF]

open access: yes, 2001
In quantum operations, probabilities characterise both the degree of the success of a state transformation and, as density operator eigenvalues, the degree of mixedness of the final state. We give a unified treatment of pure-to-pure state transformations,

Why and When Are Evidence‐Based Interventions Adopted in Paediatric Supportive Care? A Qualitative Exploration of the Determinants of Photobiomodulation Implementation

open access: yesPediatric Blood &Cancer, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Background Oral mucositis is a common and debilitating side effect of childhood cancer and stem cell transplant treatments. It affects the quality of life of children and young people (CYP) and places a strain on services. Photobiomodulation is recommended for oral mucositis prevention in international guidance but is poorly implemented in UK ...

Refinements of Jensen’s Inequality via Majorization Results with Applications in the Information Theory

open access: yesJournal of Mathematics, 2021
In this study, we present some new refinements of the Jensen inequality with the help of majorization results. We use the concept of convexity along with the theory of majorization and obtain refinements of the Jensen inequality.

Entropic Uncertainty Relations via Direct-Sum Majorization Relation for Generalized Measurements

open access: yes, 2019
We derive an entropic uncertainty relation for generalized positive-operator-valued measure (POVM) measurements via a direct-sum majorization relation using Schur concavity of entropic quantities in a finite-dimensional Hilbert space.

Real‐World Pediatric Blinatumomab Administration: Access to Outpatient Care Delivery and Impact of a Hospital‐Dispensed Model

open access: yesPediatric Blood &Cancer, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Blinatumomab has been shown to be highly effective for patients with pediatric B‐ALL and has recently become standard of care therapy. Due to its past use in the clinical trial setting, there is limited information available about real‐world administration.

Majorization approach to entropic uncertainty relations for coarse-grained observables

open access: yes, 2015
We improve the entropic uncertainty relations for position and momentum coarse-grained measurements. We derive the continuous, coarse-grained counterparts of the discrete uncertainty relations based on the concept of majorization.
