Medicine for the Material World

open access: yesArchaeometry, Volume 68, Issue 3, Page 434-439, June 2026.
ABSTRACT It is clear that many of the inorganic materials of antiquity have been used both as medicines for human ills and also as agents in technological processes. This paper speculates that there might have been a stronger link between these two functions in the past, based on the concept of “active agents”—materials that are efficacious at curing ...

Study on Preparation of Calcium-Based Modified Coal Gangue and Its Adsorption Dye Characteristics

open access: yesMolecules
Efficient and thorough treatment of dye wastewater is essential to achieve ecological harmony. In this study, a new type of calcium-based modified coal gangue (Ca-CG) was prepared by using solid waste coal gangue as raw material and a CaCl2 modifier ...

Negative effects of malachite green and possibilities of its replacement in the treatment of fish eggs and fish: a review

open access: yesVeterinární Medicína, 2007
Malachite green has been used as an effective compound to control external fungal and protozoan infections of fish since 1933 but it has never been registered as a veterinary drug for use in food fish because of its potential carcinogenicity ...

Jet Mixer Precipitation vs. Conventional Precipitation for a Cu/ZnO/MgO MeOH Catalysts

open access: yesZeitschrift für anorganische und allgemeine Chemie, Volume 652, Issue 7, 6 May 2026.
Separating Precipitation and Aging. A jet mixer allows very fast precipitation of the catalyst precursor (blue), which enables a clear separation of precipitation and aging (aged precursor: green). A characteristic drop in the pH value shows the onset of crystallization during aging. A comparison with a conventionally produced system showed superiority

Photocatalytic Removal of Malachite Green Dye from Aqueous Solutions Using Halloysite–TiO2 Nanocomposite

open access: yesJournal of Mazandaran University of Medical Sciences, 2021
Background and purpose: Malachite green is one of the most widely used dyes in various industries, aquaculture, and fungicides. The residues have adverse effects on environmental and human health and should be removed from the effluent before discharging

Diffusion of Malachite Green in Polyacrylonitrile

open access: yesThe Journal of the Society of Chemical Industry, Japan, 1968

A dsorption studies of malachite green dye on mesoporous silica synthesized in 1-octyl-3-methylimidazolium chloride ionic liquid [PDF]

open access: yes, 2014
In this work, one long-chain ionic liquid (IL), 1-octyl-3-methylimidazolium chloride, was used as a template for the preparation of mesoporous silica via a modified sol-gel route.

Development and Structural Characterization of UTE‐156, a Covalent Inhibitor of the VCP/p97 AAA+ ATPase

open access: yesAdvanced Science, Volume 13, Issue 25, 4 May 2026.
The AAA+ ATPase Valosin‐containing protein (VCP/p97) regulates protein homeostasis by unfolding ubiquitinated substrates. Here, we describe UTE‐156, a novel irreversible covalent inhibitor that modifies Cys522 in the D2 ATPase motor domain. Although its pharmacochemical limitations preclude immediate therapeutic use, UTE‐156 serves as a valuable ...
