D-malic acid production from DL-malic acid by enantiospecific assimilation with Acinetobacter lwofii
Biotechnology Letters, 1993Acinetobacter lwofii ATCC 9036 assimilated L-malic acid eantiospecifically and left D-malic acid when grown in a medium containing DL-malic acid. The optical purity of the D-malic acid isolated from the culture filtrate was 100%. When the organism was incubated at 26°C, 220 r.p.m.
