A unique case of prenatal diagnosis of vascular Ehlers‐Danlos syndrome

open access: yesInternational Journal of Gynecology &Obstetrics, Volume 172, Issue 2, Page 1258-1260, February 2026.
Abstract We present a rare instance of prenatal diagnosis of vEDS without a family history. The suspicion of a genetic syndrome arose from an incidental ultrasound finding of a facial anomaly—previously associated with vEDS in adulthood but never described prenatally.

SARS‐CoV‐2 Chronic Intervillositis: Variations of Maternal Antiviral Response

open access: yesAmerican Journal of Reproductive Immunology, Volume 95, Issue 2, February 2026.
ABSTRACT Problem Placental compromise is a determining factor in the outcome of pregnancies complicated by maternal SARS‐CoV‐2 infection. Chronic histiocytic intervillositis (CHI) is the initial response to SARS‐CoV‐2 infection, but the underlying mechanisms are poorly understood.

Controlled Delayed Aortic Repair in Acute Aortic Syndrome and Multiorgan Failure: An Option in Selected Cases

open access: yesThe Thoracic & Cardiovascular Surgeon Reports, 2015
The factor time plays an important role in diagnosis and treatment of acute aortic syndromes, not only as a short interval between diagnosis and surgical therapy, but also as a delay of definitive therapy in the selected cases. Severe organ damage caused

Adhesion molecules in the maternal–fetal interface in healthy pregnancies and preeclampsia

open access: yesActa Obstetricia et Gynecologica Scandinavica, Volume 105, Issue 2, Page 298-308, February 2026.
This study revealed elevated levels of adhesion molecules in the maternal circulation and reduced levels in the fetal circulation in preeclampsia. The findings suggest systemic maternal endothelial dysfunction in preeclampsia. Lower fetal adhesion molecule levels warrant further study. Abstract Introduction Adhesion molecules are markers of endothelial

Triage and care for women with symptoms or diagnosis of pregnancy loss between 14 + 0 and 21 + 6 weeks' gestation

open access: yesInternational Journal of Gynecology &Obstetrics, Volume 172, Issue 1, Page 25-50, January 2026.
Abstract Mid‐trimester pregnancy loss (MTL), defined as a pregnancy loss occurring between 14 + 0 and 21 + 6 weeks of gestation, causes significant physical and emotional distress to women and presents clinical challenges to healthcare professionals. It is acknowledged that in low‐resource settings, this guideline might be applicable to births up to 28

Left subclavian artery malperfusion due to thoracic outlet syndrome during total vertebrectomy for invasive lung cancer: a case report

open access: yesJA Clinical Reports, 2017
Thoracic outlet syndrome (TOS) can interrupt blood flow to upper limbs by vascular compression. We report a case of a 52-year-old man who presented left subclavian artery malperfusion due to TOS during total vertebrectomy (Th2–4) in the prone position ...

Case Report: Surgery combined with extracorporeal membraneoxygenation for acute type A aortic dissection complicated with acute myocardial infarction

open access: yesFrontiers in Cardiovascular Medicine
BackgroundAcute myocardial infarction (AMI) is one of the most serious complications of acute type A aortic dissection (ATAAD) and markedly increases patient mortality. Simultaneous treatment strategies remain controversial.

Color-coded summation images for the evaluation of blood flow in endovascular aortic dissection fenestration

open access: yesBMC Medical Imaging, 2022
Background To analyze the benefit of color-coded summation images in the assessment of target lumen perfusion in patients with aortic dissection and malperfusion syndrome before and after fluoroscopy-guided aortic fenestration.

A case of blunt thoracic aortic injury requiring ECMO for acute malperfusion before TEVAR

open access: yesScandinavian Journal of Trauma, Resuscitation and Emergency Medicine, 2017
Background Blunt thoracic aortic injury (BTAI) is associated with a high mortality rate and the paradigm of treating patients with BTAI currently favours thoracic endovascular aneurysm repair (TEVAR) if possible.
