Impact of refractive index increment on the determination of molecular weight of hyaluronic acid by muti-angle laser light-scattering technique

open access: yesScientific Reports, 2020
Hyaluronic acid (HA) is applied in a number of medical applications and HA of different molecular weight (Mw) are used in different pharmaceutical preparations.

Structured sorbents for Direct Air Capture: The impact of materials and chemicals on performance

open access: yesAIChE Journal, EarlyView.
Abstract Structured sorbents can efficiently process large air volumes required for Direct Air Capture (DAC), but their broad implementation is limited by challenges in producing reproducible and homogeneous materials. This work presents a robust procedure to graft amines onto monolithic sorbents and systematically investigates how CO2$$ {\mathrm{CO ...

DNA‐Induced Entropic Gain Triggers an Allosteric Switch for Biomolecular Condensation of Heat Shock Transcription Factor 1

open access: yesAngewandte Chemie, EarlyView.
Hsf1 undergoes phase separation around target DNA, activating stress‐responsive transcription. DNA binding tunes conformational dynamics of Hsf1DBD, which propagates through large‐scale domain rearrangements involving DBD–IDR interactions to regulate phase separation. This hierarchical framework illustrates how local structural events at the side chain

Laparoscopic treatment in a patient with median arcuate ligament syndrome identified at the onset of superior mesenteric artery dissection: a case report

open access: yesSurgical Case Reports, 2019
Background Median arcuate ligament syndrome (MALS) is a rare clinical entity caused mainly by extrinsic compression of the celiac axis by the median arcuate ligament (MAL).

Ecdysone signaling regulates specification of neurons with a male-specific neurite in Drosophila

open access: yesBiology Open, 2018
Some mAL neurons in the male brain form the ipsilateral neurite (ILN[+]) in a manner dependent on FruBM, a male-specific transcription factor. FruBM represses robo1 transcription, allowing the ILN to form.

Size exclusion chromatography and MALS analysis.

open access: yes, 2018
(A) Size exclusion chromatogram of ScUGPase-1. Peaks between 40 and 60 mL correspond presumably to higher oligomeric forms of ScUGPase-1, whereas the peak at 75 mL corresponds to the monomeric form.

Accelerating Biosensor Discovery: A Computationally‐Driven Pipeline for Microplastics Monitoring

open access: yesAdvanced Intelligent Discovery, EarlyView.
A computationally guided pipeline unites molecular simulation, synthetic biology, electrochemical engineering, and machine learning to accelerate biosensor discovery. A Bacillus anthracis carbohydrate‐binding module is used to develop a high‐performance micro‐ and nanoplastics sensor with greatly reduced error and variability.

Interactions between maternal provisioning and natural selection on seed mass fluctuate across heat waves

open access: yesAmerican Journal of Botany, EarlyView.
Abstract Premise Changing climates are leading to more frequent and severe heat waves, potentially threatening plant populations. Both acclimation to stress and selection for heat‐escape or heat‐resistance phenotypes occur during heat waves. However, plastic responses and selection do not necessarily interact cohesively—even producing trait responses ...

GPC-MALS vs. A4F-MALS: MOLAR MASS DETERMINATION OF SELF-CROSSLINKING ACRYLIC BINDERS BASED ON EMULSION COPOLYMERS

open access: yes, 2016
Samosíťující latexy na bázi core-shell částic byly syntetizovány emulzní polymerací akrylových monomerů. Molekulová hmotnost kopolymerů tvořících obal byla postupně snižována pomocí izooktyl-3-merkaptopropionátu.
