Usefulness of Size-Exclusion Chromatography–Multi-Angle Light Scattering to Assess Particle Composition and Protein Impurities for Quality Control of Therapeutic Exosome Preparations

open access: yesPharmaceutics
Background: Extracellular vesicles (EVs), including exosomes, are promising pharmaceutical modalities. They are purified from cell culture supernatant; however, the preparation may contain EVs with the desired therapeutic effects and different types of ...

Hypomethylation of GNA15 Promotes Pancreatic Ductal Adenocarcinoma Progression and Macrophage M2 Polarization via STAT3‐CXCL8 Axis

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
A schematic model summarizing GNA15's mechanism in mediating macrophage M2 polarization and Gemcitabine resistance. ABSTRACT The complexity of pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma (PDAC) progression, coupled with the lack of effective immunotherapy, underscores the imperative to deepen our understanding of its mechanisms and identify suitable immune ...

Retroperitoneal approach for redo median arcuate ligament release

open access: yesAnnals of Vascular Surgery - Brief Reports and Innovations
Median arcuate ligament syndrome (MALS) is a cause of chronic abdominal pain that can be difficult to diagnose and treat, as the pathophysiology is not completely understood and there is no definitive diagnostic and treatment algorithm.

Chimeric IL‐6/4R‐LL37 Engineered Macrophages Achieve Synchronized Inflammation Control and Antimicrobial Defence in Sepsis

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Engineered macrophages programmed in situ by LNP‐delivered IL‐6/4 fusion and LL37 mRNAs simultaneously dampen cytokine storm, promote M2‐like repair, and enhance direct bacterial killing in sepsis. This combinatorial strategy restores T cell and macrophage function, lowers organ bacterial burden, and improves survival, highlighting a precision, host ...

Switching Spike Plasticity Shapes ACE2 Engagement Across SARS‐CoV‐2 Variants

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Conformational plasticity governs SARS‐CoV‐2 spike function and ACE2 recognition. Using high‐speed AFM and single‐molecule force spectroscopy, we analyzed the ancestral spike and nine variants, revealing progressive rigidification from Delta, variable plasticity in Omicron sublineages, and JN.1 compaction.

Diverging Liquid–Liquid Phase Separation Behavior of Different Recombinant Major Ampullate Spidroins

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Fibers spun from the MaSp1‐derivative as well as MaSp1‐MaSp2‐mixtures provide a deeper insight into the assembly process of the spidroins and how hierarchical architectures of spider silk fibers could be achieved. ABSTRACT Spider silk fibers show exceptional mechanical properties, based on their underlying spider silk proteins (spidroins) as well as a ...
