Betaine Promotes Milk Protein Synthesis via Alleviating Oxidative Stress Caused by NEFA in Mammary Epithelial Cells of Dairy Cows

open access: yesVeterinary Medicine and Science, Volume 12, Issue 4, July 2026.
Betaine alleviated NEFA‐induced oxidative stress, which served as a central mechanistic link between fatty liver and mammary dysfunction, and concurrently improved milk protein synthesis via regulation of the Nrf2‐JAK2/STAT5/mTOR axis. ABSTRACT Background Fatty liver is highly prevalent in dairy cows and poses a significant challenge to the dairy ...

Traditional Fermented Dairy Products as Reservoirs of Bifidobacterium With Probiotic Potential: From Microbial Diversity to Functional Characterization

open access: yesComprehensive Reviews in Food Science and Food Safety, Volume 25, Issue 4, July 2026.
ABSTRACT Traditional fermented dairy products (TFDPs) are complex microbial ecosystems that may serve as reservoirs of many microorganisms, including those with probiotic potential such as Bifidobacterium species and lactobacilli. Although bifidobacteria are widely used as probiotic microorganisms in defined formulations, their occurrence, persistence,

Maternal Obesity and MicroRNAs in Breast Milk: Implications for Infant Developmental Programming

open access: yesObesity Reviews, Volume 27, Issue 7, July 2026.
ABSTRACT This review explores the relationship between maternal obesity and alterations in the expression of microRNAs (miRNAs) in breast milk, highlighting how these changes may influence the developmental programming of the infant. Evidence suggests that maternal obesity can affect the bioactive composition of breast milk, including miRNA profiles ...

Targeting Fatty Acid Synthase With Berberine Promotes IL‐10 Production in Macrophages and Prevents Relapse in a Murine Colitis Model

open access: yesThe FASEB Journal, Volume 40, Issue 11, 15 June 2026.
Berberine enhances IL‐10 production in macrophages via FASN‐dependent mechanisms, thereby promoting epithelial repair and preventing colitis relapse. Created with BioRender.com. ABSTRACT Inflammatory bowel disease (IBD) is a chronic inflammatory disorder characterized by alternating periods of remission and relapse.

Shaping Ti3C2 MXene Nanospheres for Precision Near‐Infrared Photothermal Therapy

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, Volume 36, Issue 46, 8 June 2026.
In this study, we report producing spherical MXenes via fs laser fragmentation of Ti3C2 flakes in liquid medium. The nanoparticles demonstrated pronounced light absorption and high photothermal conversion efficiencies of 68% and 63% under heating with NIR‐I and NIR‐II lasers, respectively.
