Passive tracking of a maneuvering target: an adaptive approach

IEEE Transactions on Signal Processing, 1994
The problem of target tracking using passive sensors is examined. The target is assumed to execute maneuvers at times unknown to the observer. An adaptive algorithm, which takes into account such maneuvers, is derived using the multimodel partitioning approach.

Error Performance Analysis of IMM-Kalman Filter for Maneuvering Target Tracking Application

2020 6th International Conference on Wireless and Telematics (ICWT), 2020
Maneuvering target is one of the important issues in the tracking system algorithm development. Various techniques are used to improve algorithm performance in maneuvering target tracking. The most popular technique is the Interacting Multiple Model (IMM)

Passive depth tracking of underwater maneuvering targets

IEEE Transactions on Acoustics, Speech, and Signal Processing, 1985
As a parallel extension to the adaptive range tracking of underwater targets described by Moose and Dailey [1], this paper discusses the problem of tracking the depth of a maneuvering target using passive time-delay measurements. The target is free to maneuver in velocity and make random depth changes at times unknown to the observer.

A guidance law for visual tracking of a maneuvering target

2006 American Control Conference, 2006
This paper presents an adaptive disturbance rejection control architecture for a flying vehicle to track a maneuvering target using a monocular camera as a visual sensor. The derived guidance law is an acceleration command for the follower and enures range regulation with desired precision. Simulations illustrate the performance of the method.

IMMGNNF with visibility for multiple maneuvering target tracking

2016 IEEE International Conference on Digital Signal Processing (DSP), 2016
In this paper, we develop the Interacting Multiple Model (IMM) estimator using the constant velocity, constant acceleration and coordinated turn model set with Global Nearest Neighbour (GNN) filter to track multiple maneuvering targets. The performance of this IMMGNN filter is further enhanced by incorporating a recursion of the probability of target ...

Optimal Tracking of Maneuvering Targets

IEEE Transactions on Aerospace and Electronic Systems, 1973
Maneuvering target motion is modeled by introducing a binary random variable in the target state equation. The optimal estimate is shown to be a weighted combination of two Kalman filter estimates with weights depending on the likelihood ratio for the detection of a maneuver. A tracking scheme is proposed for maneuvering target tracking and illustrated

An Efficient Algorithm for Tracking Multiple Maneuvering Targets

Proceedings of the 44th IEEE Conference on Decision and Control, 2006
Tracking multiple maneuvering targets in a cluttered environment is a challenging problem. A combination of interacting multiple model (IMM) and joint probabilistic data association (JPDA) has been successfully applied to track multiple maneuvering targets.

Maneuvering frequency adaptive algorithm of maneuvering target tracking

2013 Fourth International Conference on Intelligent Control and Information Processing (ICICIP), 2013
The current statistical model is one of most effective method for maneuvering target tracking. It's the mean acceleration model and it reflects the variation of target's maneuvering rang and the intensity more practically . However, the frequency of maneuvering α , which represents the variation of target maneuvering, needs to be predefined and it won ...

Target visibility for multiple maneuvering target tracking

SPIE Proceedings, 2015
We present a recursion of the probability of target visibility and its applications to analysis of track life and termination in the context of Global Nearest Neighbour (GNN) approach and Probability Hypothesis Density (PHD) filter. In the presence of uncertainties brought about by clutter; decisions to retain a track, terminate it or initialise a new ...
