Function‐driven design of a surrogate interleukin‐2 receptor ligand

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Interleukin (IL)‐2 signaling can be achieved and precisely fine‐tuned through the affinity, distance, and orientation of the heterodimeric receptors with their ligands. We designed a biased IL‐2 surrogate ligand that selectively promotes effector T and natural killer cell activation and differentiation. Interleukin (IL) receptors play a pivotal role in

Treading in Mortimer's footsteps: the geochemical cycling of iron and manganese in Esthwaite water [PDF]

open access: yes, 1984
A study of the geochemical cycling of iron and manganese in a seasonally stratified lake, Esthwaite water is described. This work is based on speculative ideas on environmental redox chemistry of iron which were proposed by C.H.

Catalytic and mechanistic studies into the epoxidation of styrenes using manganese complexes of structurally similar polyamine ligands [PDF]

open access: yes, 2014
The synthesis and catalytic activity of manganese(ii) complexes of two polyamine ligands is reported which highlights how a small structural change in the ligand affects the overall catalytic behaviour.

Catalytic enantioselective intramolecular hydroamination of alkenes using chiral aprotic cyclic urea ligand on manganese (II)

open access: yesNature Communications
Asymmetric catalysis for enantioselective intramolecular hydroamination of alkenes is a critical method in the construction of enantioenriched nitrogen-containing rings, often prevalent in biologically active compounds and natural products.

Determination of Manganese Content in Soils and Sediments by X-ray Fluorescence Spectrometry

open access: yesYankuang ceshi, 2020
OBJECTIVES Due to the advantages of simple sample preparation, non-destructive determination, and rapid detection, the X-ray fluorescence spectrometry technique has become a robust method for determination of manganese in soil or sediment.

Expression in A. thaliana and cellular localization reveal involvement of BjNRAMP1 in cadmium uptake

open access: yesFrontiers in Plant Science, 2023
Although Brassica juncea has demonstrated potential as a hyperaccumulator crop, it was not entirely clear how cadmium (Cd) accumulates in plants. Here, we found that BjNRAMP1 (Natural Resistance-Associated Macrophage Protein 1) plays a crucial role in ...

Adenosine‐to‐inosine editing of miR‐200b‐3p is associated with the progression of high‐grade serous ovarian cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
A‐to‐I editing of miRNAs, particularly miR‐200b‐3p, contributes to HGSOC progression by enhancing cancer cell proliferation, migration and 3D growth. The edited form is linked to poorer patient survival and the identification of novel molecular targets.

Safety and efficacy of manganese compounds (E5) as feed additives for all animal species: manganous carbonate; manganous chloride, tetrahydrate; manganous oxide; manganous sulphate, monohydrate; manganese chelate of amino acids, hydrate; manganese chelate of glycine, hydrate, based on a dossier submitted by FEFANA asbl

open access: yesEFSA Journal, 2016
The Panel on Additives and Products or Substances used in Animal Feed (FEEDAP) has assessed five manganese compounds: manganous chloride, tetrahydrate; manganous sulphate, monohydrate; manganous oxide; manganese chelate of amino acids, hydrate; manganese

Correlation between manganese dissolution and dynamic phase stability in spinel-based lithium-ion battery

open access: yesNature Communications, 2019
Historically long accepted to be the singular root cause of capacity fading, transition metal dissolution has been reported to severely degrade the anode. However, its impact on the cathode behavior remains poorly understood. Here we show the correlation

YAP1::TFE3 mediates endothelial‐to‐mesenchymal plasticity in epithelioid hemangioendothelioma

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
The YAP1::TFE3 fusion protein drives endothelial‐to‐mesenchymal transition (EndMT) plasticity, resulting in the loss of endothelial characteristics and gain of mesenchymal‐like properties, including resistance to anoikis, increased migratory capacity, and loss of contact growth inhibition in endothelial cells.
