Consequences of manganese compounds: a review
Toxicological & Environmental Chemistry, 2014Manufacturing of manganese (Mn) compounds, their industrial applications as well as mining overburden, has generated a potential environmental pollutant. Occupational exposure to elevated levels of Mn occurs during mining, welding, smelting and other industrial anthropogenic sources.

Magnetic ordering in erbium iron manganese boron compounds
Physical Review B, 1989The magnetic ordering of Er/sub 2/Fe/sub 14-//sub x/Mn/sub x/B alloys has been studied by powder neutron diffraction for xless than or equal to8. At high x, ferromagnetic ordering of the Fe atoms was observed only on the k/sub 1/ and c sites, consistent with extrapolations from lower concentrations.

Multiphoton absorption in antiferromagnetic manganese compounds
Soviet Journal of Low Temperature Physics, 1985We have studied multiphoton absorption in three-dimensional (RbMnCl3, CsMnCl3) and quasi-two-dimensional (NaMnCl3, BaMnF4, and [CH2(NH3)2CH] MnCl4) layered antiferromagnets for temperatures from 2–20.4 K. We observe that the nonlinearity in the absorption process is not the same in the various crystals, and depends on the intensity of the transmitted ...

The preparation of some manganese compounds
1974A characteristic property of the transition elements is the ability of an element to exist in a number of different oxidation states. Manganese has oxidation states from — III to +VII. The lower oxidation states are only formed with π-bonding molecules (see p. 73).
