FastCat: Autonomous Discovery of Multielement Layered Double Hydroxide Alloy Catalysts for Alkaline Oxygen Evolution Reaction

A machine learning‐guided self‐driving laboratory screened over 500 nickel‐based layered double‐hydroxide catalysts for alkaline oxygen evolution. Out of the eight metals, the robot uncovered a quaternary Ni–Fe–Cr–Co catalysts requiring only 231 mV overpotential to reach 20 mA cm−2.

One‐Step Electrodeposition of Iron Oxyhydroxide Onto 3D Porous Graphene Substrates for on Chip Asymmetric Micro‐Supercapacitors

A micro‐supercapacitor with electrodeposited iron oxyhydroxide (FeOOH) as the negative electrode and birnessite manganese oxide (MnO2) as the positive electrode achieves a 2 V working voltage, stable cycling in an aqueous electrolyte, and high energy and power densities of 21 μWh cm‐2 and 2.5 mW cm‐2 respectively.

Sonochemical Synthesis of Cobalt‐Oxo‐Cubanes as Redox‐Active Platform for Proton‐Coupled Electron Transfer

A facile sonochemical method for rapid and gram‐scale synthesis of ligand‐tunable cobalt‐oxo‐cubanes is reported. Electrochemical studies reveal a Co4O4‐centered one‐electron oxidation and PCET pathway, while identifying Co2+ impurities as key disruptors of true cubane redox chemistry.

Peroxodisulfate‐Enhanced Leaching of Deep‐Sea Manganese Crusts and Sulfides

Ammonium peroxodisulfate enables efficient leaching of deep‐sea manganese crusts and massive sulfides while offering electrolytic recycling. High leaching yields for V, Mn, Co, Mo, Sn, and W, along with complete leaching of As and Sb, highlight its potential as a powerful and sustainable oxidant for marine resource processing.
