Surface phase separation in nanosized charge-ordered manganites
Recent experiments showed that the robust charge-ordering in manganites can be weakened by reducing the grain size down to nanoscale. Weak ferromagnetism was evidenced in both nanoparticles and nanowires of charge-ordered manganites.

Spin-charge and spin-orbital coupling effects on spin dynamics in ferromagnetic manganites
Correlation-induced spin-charge and spin-orbital coupling effects on spin dynamics in ferromagnetic manganites are calculated with realistic parameters in order to provide a quantitative comparison with experimental results for spin stiffness, magnon ...

Phase separation in systems with charge ordering [PDF]
A simple model of charge ordering is considered. It is shown explicitly that at any deviation from half-filling ($n \neq 1/2$) the system is unstable with respect to phase separation into charge ordered regions with $n = 1/2$ and metallic regions with ...

Origin of the multiferroic spiral spin-order in the RMnO3 perovskites
The origin of the spiral spin-order in perovskite multiferroic manganites $R$MnO$_{3}$ ($RE=$ Tb or Dy) is here investigated using a two $e_{\rm g}$-orbitals double-exchange model.

Ferroelectricity in the multiferroic hexagonal manganites [PDF]
A combination of nonlinear optical experiments, piezoresponse force microscopy and Monte Carlo simulations resolves the correlation between polarization, topology and temperature for the hexagonal manganite YMnO3—a persistent ferroelectrics puzzle.
