Is There A Pure Electronic Ferroelectric?
The search for faster, more reliable ferroelectric materials has shifted from traditional lattice‐driven ferroelectrics, which rely on slow ionic displacements, to electronic ferroelectrics, where polarization is governed by electronic ordering. This shift enables ultrafast switching, low‐field operation, and resistance to fatigue.

The perovskite to brownmillerite topotactic phase transition in La0.7Sr0.3MnO3‐δ thin films is achieved through a simple and efficient thermal vacuum annealing that employs bulk aluminum as an active oxygen getter. STEM reveals surface segregation and cation redistribution, while EELS identifies distinct manganese oxidation states across different ...

Scaling Behavior and Beyond Equilibrium in the Hexagonal Manganites
We show that the improper ferroelectric phase transition in the multiferroic hexagonal manganites displays appropriate symmetry-breaking characteristics for testing the Kibble-Zurek mechanism originally proposed to describe early-universe phase ...

Magnon Broadening Effect by Magnon-Phonon Interaction in Colossal Magnetoresistance Manganites
In order to study the magnetic excitation behaviors in colossal magnetoresistance manganites, a magnon-phonon interacting system is investigated. Sudden broadening of magnon linewidth is obtained when a magnon branch crosses over an optical phonon branch.

Electronic and Magnetic Reconstructions in Manganite Superlattices
We investigate the electronic reconstruction at the interface between ferromagnetic metallic (FM) and antiferromagnetic insulating (AFI) manganites in superlattices using a two-orbital double-exchange model including superexchange interactions, Jahn ...

Magnetocaloric effect in manganites: metamagnetic transitions for magnetic refrigeration [PDF]
We present a study of the magnetocaloric effect in La5/8-yPryCa3/8MnO3 (y=0.3) and Pr0.5Ca0.09Sr0.41MnO3 manganites. The low temperature state of both ystems is the result of a competition between the antiferromagnetic and ferromagnetic phases.

Near‐Field Optical Detection of Defect‐Stabilized Metallic Islands at the Verwey Transition in Fe3O4
Nanoscale metallic islands emerging across the Verwey transition in thin films of Fe3O4 are imaged using near‐field optical microscopy from mid‐infrared to terahertz frequencies. Recurring across thermal cycles, these disorder‐stabilized islands exhibit distinct transition temperatures.

Epitaxial La0.5Sr0.5MnO3‐δ Bipolar Memristive Devices with Tunable and Stable Multilevel States
Valence change memories are novel data storage devices in which the resistance is determined by a reversible redox reaction triggered by voltage. The oxygen content and mobility within the active materials of these devices play a crucial role in their ...
