The Weak Interaction as an Indirect Manifestation of Hypercolor [PDF]

open access: yes, 1983
Recently a large number of authors has been interested in constructing composite models of leptons and quarks. The idea is that the leptons and quarks are composed of several constituents which are bound together by a superstrong force. There exist various constraints on the sizes of leptons and quarks, e.g.

Severe Muscle Weakness due to Hypokalemia as a Manifestation of Small-Cell Carcinoma

open access: yesRespiration, 1999
We describe the case of a 56-year-old man with severe muscle weakness due to heavy hypokalemia (serum potassium 1.44 mmol/l) associated with inappropriate kaliuria and alkalemia. Subsequent investigation revealed the presence of ectopic ACTH hypersecretion due to a small-cell lung carcinoma.

Weak Magnetic Storms Can Modulate Ionosphere‐Plasmasphere Interaction Significantly: Mechanisms and Manifestations at Mid‐Latitudes [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of Geophysical Research: Space Physics, 2019
AbstractA comprehensive study of the response of the ionosphere‐plasmasphere system at mid‐latitudes to weak (Dstmin > −50 nT) magnetic storms is presented. For the first time, it is shown that weak magnetic disturbances can lead to significant modulation of ionosphere‐plasmasphere H+ ion fluxes.

Why and When Are Evidence‐Based Interventions Adopted in Paediatric Supportive Care? A Qualitative Exploration of the Determinants of Photobiomodulation Implementation

open access: yesPediatric Blood &Cancer, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Background Oral mucositis is a common and debilitating side effect of childhood cancer and stem cell transplant treatments. It affects the quality of life of children and young people (CYP) and places a strain on services. Photobiomodulation is recommended for oral mucositis prevention in international guidance but is poorly implemented in UK ...
