When kinases meet mathematics: the systems biology of MAPK signalling [PDF]
The mitogen activated protein kinase/extracellular signal regulated kinase pathway regulates fundamental cellular function such as cell proliferation, survival, differentiation and motility, raising the question how these diverse functions are specified ...

Elevated level of cholesterol is positively correlated to prostate cancer development and disease severity. Cholesterol‐lowering drugs, such as statins, are demonstrated to inhibit prostate cancer. VNPP433‐3β interrupts multiple signaling and metabolic pathways, including cholesterol biosynthesis, AR‐mediated transcription of several oncogenes, mRNA 5′

Inhibition of the TNF-α–Induced Serine Phosphorylation of IRS-1 at 636/639 by AICAR
AMP-activated protein kinase (AMPK) contributes to the acceleration of insulin signaling. However, the mechanism by which AMPK regulates insulin signaling remains unclear.

Southern blot analysis of Chinese hamster x mouse somatic cell hybrids was used to map the gene for a serine/threonine protein kinase expressed in brain and testis. This locus, termed Camk-4, encodes Ca2+/calmodulin-dependent protein kinase IV.

Low expression of five purine metabolism‐related genes (ADSL, APRT, ADCY3, NME3, NME6) was correlated with poor survival in colorectal cancer. Immunohistochemistry analysis showed that low NME3 (early stage) and low ADSL/NME6 (late stage) levels were associated with high risk.

TGF‐β has a complex role in cancer, exhibiting both tumor‐suppressive and tumor‐promoting properties. Using a series of differentiated tumoroids, derived from different stages and mutational background of colorectal cancer patients, we replicate this duality of TGF‐β in vitro. Notably, the atypical but highly aggressive KRASQ22K mutation rendered early‐

Deciphering MAP kinase pathway in Cicer arietinum upon Helicoverpa armigera -infestation
The activation of Mitogen-Activated Protein Kinase (MAPK) pathway is recognized as a key regulator of the plant defense mechanisms in response to insect attacks.

Bistable MAP Kinase Activity: A Plausible Mechanism Contributing to Maintenance of Late Long-Term Potentiation [PDF]
Bistability of MAP kinase (MAPK) activity has been suggested to contribute to several cellular processes, including differentiation and long-term synaptic potentiation. A recent model (48) predicts bistability due to interactions of the kinases and phosphatases in the MAPK pathway, without feedback from MAPK to earlier reactions.

Undifferentiated bipolar CG-4 cell line oligodendrocytes provide a model system for the O-2A progenitor cell from which oligodendrocytes are derived both in vivo and in vitro. The exchange of neuroblastoma conditioned basal media for basal media causes differentiation of undifferentiated bipolar CG-4 cells into multipolar oligodendrocyte-like cells ...

Loss of the frequently mutated chromatin remodeler ARID1A, a subunit of the SWI/SNF cBAF complex, results in less open chromatin, alternative splicing, and the failure to stop cells from progressing through the cell cycle after DNA damage in bladder (cancer) cells. Created in BioRender. Epigenetic regulators, such as the SWI/SNF complex, with important
