Effect of Chitosan Composite Preservative on Proteome Changes of Grass Carp Muscle during Cold Storage [PDF]

open access: yesShipin Kexue, 2023
To explore the effect of a chitosan-based preservative solution (10 mg/mL chitosan + 5 mg/mL tea polyphenol + 2 000 U/mL lysozyme) on the change in the muscle proteome of grass carp during cold storage, differential proteomic analysis of fresh fish and ...

Ebola virus VP35 induces high-level production of recombinant TPL-2–ABIN-2–NF-κB1 p105 complex in co-transfected HEK-293 cells [PDF]

open access: yes, 2013
Activation of PKR (double-stranded-RNA-dependent protein kinase) by DNA plasmids decreases translation, and limits the amount of recombinant protein produced by transiently transfected HEK (human embryonic kidney)-293 cells.

The mitogen-activated protein kinase 4-phosphorylated heat shock factor A4A regulates responses to combined salt and heat stresses

open access: yesJournal of Experimental Botany, 2019
Heat shock factors regulate responses to high temperature, salinity, water deprivation, or heavy metals. Their function in combinations of stresses is, however, not known.

The androgen receptor and signal-transduction pathways in hormone-refractory prostate cancer. Part 1: modifications to the androgen receptor [PDF]

open access: yes, 2005
Prostate cancer is the second most common male malignancy in the western world an increasing incidence in an ageing population. Treatment of advanced prostate cancer relies on androgen deprivation.

Mechanisms of Resistance to CDK4/6 Blockade in Advanced Hormone Receptor-Positive, HER2-Negative Breast Cancer and Emerging Therapeutic Opportunities.

open access: yesClinical Cancer Research, 2021
The cyclin-dependent kinase 4/6 inhibitors (CDK4/6i) have become the standard of care, in combination with anti-estrogen therapy, for patients with HR+/HER2- advanced breast cancer.

Oxidation and phosphorylation of MAP kinase 4 cause protein aggregation

open access: yesBiochimica et Biophysica Acta (BBA) - Proteins and Proteomics, 2015
Mitogen-activated protein kinase (MPK) cascades are highly conserved signaling pathways that respond to environmental cues. Arabidopsis MPK4 has been identified as a stress-responsive protein kinase. Here we demonstrate that Brassica napus MPK4 (BnMPK4) is activated by hydrogen peroxide (H2O2) and phytohormone abscisic acid (ABA).

From 2-Alkylsulfanylimidazoles to 2-Alkylimidazoles: An Approach towards Metabolically More Stable p38α MAP Kinase Inhibitors

open access: yesMolecules, 2017
In vitro and in vivo metabolism studies revealed that 2-alkylsulfanylimidazole ML3403 (4-(5-(4-fluorophenyl)-2-(methylthio)-1H-imidazol-4-yl)-N-(1-phenylethyl)pyridin-2-amine) undergoes rapid oxidation to the sulfoxide.

17-β Estradiol Rescued Immature Rat Brain against Glutamate-Induced Oxidative Stress and Neurodegeneration via Regulating Nrf2/HO-1 and MAP-Kinase Signaling Pathway

open access: yesAntioxidants, 2021
Dysregulated glutamate signaling, leading to neuronal excitotoxicity and death, has been associated with neurodegenerative pathologies. 17β-estradiol (E2) is a human steroid hormone having a role in reproduction, sexual maturation, brain health and ...

CRAF R391W is a melanoma driver oncogene. [PDF]

open access: yes, 2016
Approximately 75% of melanomas have known driver oncogenic mutations in BRAF, NRAS, GNA11 or GNAQ, while the mutations providing constitutive oncogenic signaling in the remaining melanomas are not known.
