Tumor B‐cell infiltration in platinum‐treated advanced muscle‐invasive urothelial carcinoma

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Bladder tumors with higher pretreatment memory B‐cell infiltration were linked to longer survival after cisplatin chemotherapy, but not carboplatin. These tumors also showed more organized immune structures (tertiary lymphoid structures) and a shared pro‐inflammatory B‐cell‐rich community, suggesting that memory B cells may help identify patients most ...

Evaluation of marginal and internal adaptation of implant-supported PEEK crowns fabricated by 3D printing, milling, and pressing: a micro-CT analysis

open access: yesBMC Oral Health
Objectives This study aimed to evaluate and compare the marginal adaptation and internal gap of implant-supported crowns fabricated from polyetheretherketone (PEEK) using CAD-CAM milling, heat pressing, and 3D printing, employing non-destructive micro ...

Polarization‐resolved femtosecond Vis/IR spectroscopy tailored for resolving weak signals in biological samples using minimal sample volume

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Unique biological samples, such as site‐specific mutant proteins, are available only in limited quantities. Here, we present a polarization‐resolved transient infrared spectroscopy setup with referencing to improve signal‐to‐noise tailored towards tracing small signals. We provide an overview of characterizing the excitation conditions for polarization‐

Impact of finish line designs on the adaptation of ceramic fixed dental prostheses: a systematic review and network meta-analysis

open access: yesBMC Oral Health
Background Insufficient marginal and internal adaptation can lead to secondary caries, pulp infection, periodontal disease, and tooth loss. This network meta-analysis (NMA) assessed the impact of various finish line designs on the marginal and internal ...

The skills required for transition to university and study in biological sciences: A student perspective

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Bioscience students were asked for their opinions on the value and teaching of skills. 204 responded that teamwork, time management and study skills are necessary to reach University, that scientific writing, research, laboratory and presentation skills are taught effectively during their studies, while other skills are gained inherently through study ...

YIPFα1A expression is regulated by multilayered molecular mechanisms

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
YIPFα1A, a five‐pass Golgi protein, is regulated at multiple layers. (1) Rare‐codon enrichment drives translation‐coupled mRNA decay. (2) A proximal 3′‐UTR element stabilizes mRNA. (3) A distal 3′‐UTR element included by alternate poly(A) site usage represses translation, which can be overridden by the proximal 3′‐UTR element.

Marginal Seating of Zirconium Monolithic Crown Restorations Utilising Different Types of Luting Agents - A Comparative Study

open access: yesIndian Journal of Dental Research
Background: Marginal adaptation plays a critical role in the clinical success of ceramic inlays, and several factors, including the type and composition of luting cement, can influence the marginal fit and overall integrity of restorations.

Time‐restricted feeding prior to Mycobacterium tuberculosis infection reduces tissue CD4+ T cells with limited impact on bacterial clearance

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Time‐restricted feeding (TRF) in mice increased liver fatty acid oxidation and decreased fatty acid biosynthesis. These alterations persisted when TRF was discontinued and the host was infected with Mycobacterium tuberculosis. Pre‐exposure to TRF did not alter tissue (lung and spleen) mycobacterial burden but significantly reduced CD3+ T cells in lungs

Marginal adaptation of direct and indirect restorations through digital radiographs: literature review [PDF]

open access: yesRGO: Revista Gaúcha de Odontologia
The precise marginal adaptation in dental restorations and dental prosthesis is one of the essential requirements for success and longevity of rehabilitating treatments. Since the presence of marginal cracks can lead to exposure of cementing agent to the
