A review of blue carbon credit projects' socio‐economic activities
Abstract Coastal ‘blue carbon’ ecosystems (mangroves, seagrasses and saltmarshes) are critical for climate regulation and biodiversity, yet significant funding gaps persist in marine conservation. While blue carbon credits are increasingly used to bridge these gaps, concerns remain regarding their efficacy in delivering socio‐economic benefits.

Marine Negative Emission Technologies: A Review of Theory and Applications [PDF]
Achieving carbon neutrality by 2060 requires coordinated scientific efforts to tackle intensifying climate challenges. To balance environmental conservation with economic growth, emission reductions must be coupled with effective negative emissions ...

We document the protocol and first results from the first ever coordinated multimodel variable‐resolution experiment set with refinement over the polar regions. We find that the refinement generally yields model‐dependent effects. The most consistent improvement is an amelioration of the upper‐level cold bias in the polar regions that translates into ...

ABSTRACT Tropical rivers play a key role in regional carbon budgets, yet greenhouse gas (GHG) dynamics in regulated systems remain poorly understood. This study investigates the seasonal variability of carbon dioxide (CO2) and methane (CH4) concentrations, isotopic composition (δ13C), and river‐atmosphere fluxes in the lower Tocantins River, a ...

The Hidden Costs of Coffee Production in the Eastern African Value Chains
ABSTRACT There is increasing recognition that significant hidden costs associated with agrifood systems are not reflected in market prices. Coffee is among the three most traded agricultural commodities in the world and supports the livelihoods of more than 30 million smallholder households.

How well do global ocean approaches constrain local fCO2?
The ocean absorbs 29% of humanity’s annual anthropogenic carbon dioxide (CO $_2$ ) emissions, and the future of climate change is strongly dependent on how this sink evolves.
