A super‐slippery liquid‐infused composite organogel is engineered by localized interfacial grafting between hydrogel and oleogel networks, endowing the coating with a durable, multifunctional marine‐protective interface. Dynamic antifouling surfaces have emerged as a promising alternative, offering the potential for eco‐friendly and high‐performance ...

OCEAN CARBON SINKS AND INTERNATIONAL CLIMATE POLICY [PDF]
Terrestrial sinks have entered the Kyoto Protocol as offsets for carbon sequestration, but ocean sinks have escaped attention. Ocean sinks are as unexplored and uncertain as were the terrestrial sinks at the time of negotiation.

The future of the northeast Atlantic benthic flora in a high CO2 world [PDF]
Seaweed and seagrass communities in the northeast Atlantic have been profoundly impacted by humans, and the rate of change is accelerating rapidly due to runaway CO2 emissions and mounting pressures on coastlines associated with human population growth ...

Marine carbon dioxide removal may be a future climate solution
The ocean has absorbed 25% of anthropogenic CO 2 emissions and over 90% of excess heat, mitigating climate change but causing ocean acidification and marine ecosystem disruption. In addition to this natural role, various marine carbon dioxide removal (mCDR) techniques have been proposed ...

This work reports one‐pot synthesized novel zwitterionic polydopamine‐silica (ZSiPDA) nanofillers for fabricating PES hybrid ultrafiltration membranes with enhanced hydrophilicity, permeability, and antifouling performance. The optimized membrane achieved over 91% humic acid removal and showed strong potential for municipal wastewater treatment.

Long‐lasting remodeling of astrocytes in an Scna1+/− mouse model of Dravet syndrome
Abstract Objective Dravet syndrome (DS) is a prototypical developmental and epileptic encephalopathy caused by mutations in the SCN1A gene, leading to loss of function of the voltage‐gated sodium channel Naᵥ1.1. The latter causes early onset drug‐resistant seizures and enduring cognitive and behavioral deficits.

Carbon dioxide removal in a global analytic climate economy
Net-zero climate policies foresee deployment of atmospheric carbon dioxide removal wit geo-logical, terrestrial, or marine carbon storage. While terrestrial and geological storage would be governed under the framework of national property rights, marine ...
