Abstract Accurate measurements of phytoplankton net primary production (NPP) and calcification are essential for quantifying marine carbon cycling, yet in situ calcification rates remain poorly constrained. We compared 13C‐ and 14C‐based tracer methods for NPP in laboratory cultures of the diatom Chaetoceros tenuissimus and the coccolithophore ...

Long‐Term Corrosion of Carbon‐Steel Casing Used in Deep Geological Radioactive Waste Repository
Fifty mots 6‐year study of carbon steel corrosion in a deep geological repository (Bure, France). Three corrosion patterns were identified, driven by local conditions. Minimal corrosion layer thickness growth suggests limited corrosion progression under most conditions.

This work demonstrates successful gamma‐radiation‐induced grafting of N‐hydroxyethyl acrylamide onto poly[(R)‐3‐hydroxybutyrate], producing substantial changes in material properties. Grafting generated a biphasic, less crystalline structure with enhanced thermal stability, elongation (65%), toughness (378% increase), and exceptional water uptake (610 ...

Fiber‐Reinforced Bio‐Epoxy Composites: Degradation Mechanisms in Saline Environment
Constituent level degradation of bio‐epoxy composites after saline aging. ABSTRACT This study examines the degradation behavior of bio‐epoxy composites reinforced with glass, basalt, carbon, and flax fiber yarns in a simulated saline environment. Fiber yarns and composite samples were exposed to 3.5% NaCl solution at 60°C for up to 3000 h.
