Chaos representations for marked point processes

open access: yesCommunications on Stochastic Analysis, 2012
We show that for a large class of marked point processes there exists a random measure m with the predictable representation property such that iterated integrals with respect to m span the space of square integrable random variables.

The planar cell polarity protein Vangl2 interacts with the PDZ‐domains of Scribble but not with a unique PDZ‐like domain in Inturned

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Structural and biochemical characterisations show that the planar cell polarity (PCP) protein Inturned harbours a unique PDZ‐like domain that does not bind canonical PDZ‐binding motifs (PBMs) like that of another PCP protein Vangl2. In contrast, the apical‐basal polarity protein Scribble contains four PDZ domains that bind Vangl2, but one PDZ domain ...

Gibbsian representation for point processes via hyperedge potentials [PDF]

open access: yes, 2017
We consider marked point processes on the d-dimensional euclidean space, defined in terms of a quasilocal specification based on marked Poisson point processes.

A Marked Point Process Approach for Continuous Valence Estimation Using Respiration Activity

open access: yesIEEE Access
In this study, we present a method for continuously estimating emotional valence levels using a marked point process representation of features extracted from respiration amplitude signals.

Hysterectomy optimization technology in patients with overweight

open access: yesКлінічна та профілактична медицина, 2020
Aim. The aim of our work was the development and testing method of hysterectomy, which would greatly facilitate radical hysterectomy in patients who are overweight. Materials and methods.

Calpain small subunit homodimerization is robust and calcium‐independent

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Calpains dimerize via penta‐EF‐hand (PEF) domains. Using single‐molecule force spectroscopy, we measured the strength and kinetics of PEF–PEF homodimer binding. The interaction is robust, shows a transient conformational step before dissociation, and remains largely insensitive to Ca2+.

Numerical Investigation of Energy Saving Potential for Self-Heat Recuperation

open access: yesChemical Engineering Transactions, 2015
Recently, energy saving technology has attracted increased interest in many countries for suppressing global warming and reducing the use of fossil fuels.

Gut microbiome and aging—A dynamic interplay of microbes, metabolites, and the immune system

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Age‐dependent shifts in microbial communities engender shifts in microbial metabolite profiles. These in turn drive shifts in barrier surface permeability of the gut and brain and induce immune activation. When paired with preexisting age‐related chronic inflammation this increases the risk of neuroinflammation and neurodegenerative diseases.

Hyperosmotic stress induces PARP1‐mediated HPF1‐dependent mono(ADP‐ribosyl)ation

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Sorbitol‐induced hyperosmotic stress rapidly induces reversible mono(ADP‐ribosyl)ation (MARylation) on PARP1 without the signs of genotoxic signaling. We show that PARP1 autoMARylation is HPF1 dependent and forms hydroxylamine‐resistant O‐glycosidic linkages.
