Predicting the Ms temperature of lean alloyed ferritic–austenitic stainless steels
A set of laboratory hot-rolled and thermally cycled 19–22 wt% Cr lean alloyed ferritic–austenitic stainless steels were studied with respect to calculated equilibrium austenite composition and experimental martensite start (Ms) temperature.

Martensitic Transformation in Austenitic Stainless Steels
Martensitic transformation is very important in austenitic stainless steels where the transformation induced plasticity phenomenon provides a combination of good mechanical properties, such as formability and strength. However, the difficulty of predicting the material behaviour is one of the major drawbacks of these steels.

Gaseous surface hardening of martensitic stainless steels
The present work addresses heat and surface treatments of martensitic stainless steel EN 1.4028. Different combinations of heat treatments and surface treatments were performed: conventional austenitisation, cryogenic treatment and in particular high temperature solution nitriding (HTSN) and low temperature surface hardening (LTSH).

Corrosion Polarization and K2Cr2O7 Inhibition Behaviour of Martensitic Stainless Steel in H3PO4 and H3PO4 + 3.65% NaCl Environments [PDF]
The corrosion resistance behaviour of 12Cr martensitic stainless steel was evaluated in different concentrations of H3PO4 and H3PO4 + NaCl. Corrosion inhibition of the tested samples in 1M H3PO4 was also evaluated using potassium dichromate.
