Effective density and mass attenuation coefficient for building material in Brazil
This paper presents values for density and mass attenuation coefficient of building materials commonly used in Brazil. Transmission measurements were performed to provide input information for simulations with MCNP4B code. The structure for the clay bricks was simulated as a mix of all material layers and an effective density determined.

Sound Propagation in Gas-Vapor-Droplet Suspensions with Evaporation and Nonlinear Particle Relaxation [PDF]
The Sound attenuation and dispersion in saturated gas-vapor-droplet mixture in the presence of evaporation has been investigated theoretically. The theory is based on an extension of the work of Davidson to accommodate the effects of nonlinear particle ...

Quenching of hadron spectra in DIS on nuclear targets [PDF]
The multiple scatterings incurred by a hard quark produced in a nuclear medium induce the emission of soft gluons which carry a fraction of the quark energy and eventually affect the hadronization process.

Exam‐level analysis of lecture capture viewing and student exam performance
This study asks how lecture capture relates to exam performance in biology courses with three noncumulative exams. Mixed‐effects modeling separated between‐students from within‐student effects on exam %. Students who watched more recordings earned higher grades, but viewing spikes above a student's own mean, consistent with cramming, predicted small ...

The Associations Between Chronic Active Lesions and White Matter Disease: A 7 Tesla Imaging Study
ABSTRACT Background The relationship between paramagnetic rim lesions (PRLs) and surrounding normally appearing white matter (NAWM) disease, potentially contributory to the associations seen between PRLs and clinical impairment, is underexplored. Objectives To assess whether PRLs correlate with a greater degree of NAWM injury in early MS.
