Cell wall target fragment discovery using a low‐cost, minimal fragment library
LoCoFrag100 is a fragment library made up of 100 different compounds. Similarity between the fragments is minimized and 10 different fragments are mixed into a single cocktail, which is soaked to protein crystals. These crystals are analysed by X‐ray crystallography, revealing the binding modes of the bound fragment ligands.

Runup and rundown generated by three-dimensional sliding masses [PDF]
To study the waves and runup/rundown generated by a sliding mass, a numerical simulation model, based on the large-eddy-simulation (LES) approach, was developed.

Structural biology of ferritin nanocages
Ferritin is a conserved iron‐storage protein that sequesters iron as a ferric mineral core within a nanocage, protecting cells from oxidative damage and maintaining iron homeostasis. This review discusses ferritin biology, structure, and function, and highlights recent cryo‐EM studies revealing mechanisms of ferritinophagy, cellular iron uptake, and ...

Geomorphology of the Upper General River Basin, Costa Rica
In spite of the geomorphological diversity of Central America and Costa Rica, there are few detailed geomorphological maps. A 1:25,000 scale map of the Upper General River Basin (UGRB) in Costa Rica is presented, based on the interpretation of aerial ...

Structural insights into an engineered feruloyl esterase with improved MHET degrading properties
A feruloyl esterase was engineered to mimic key features of MHETase, enhancing the degradation of PET oligomers. Structural and computational analysis reveal how a point mutation stabilizes the active site and reshapes the binding cleft, expading substrate scope.

Effects of velocity and limb loading on the coordination between limb movements during walking. [PDF]
The authors investigated the effects of velocity (increasing from 0.5 to 5.0 km/hr in steps of 0.5 km/hr) and limb loading on the coordination between arm and leg movements during treadmill walking in 7 participants.
