The Bending of Three-Layer Elastic Core with Variable Stiff Shell

open access: yesМеханика машин, механизмов и материалов, 2008
The bending of three-layer elastic core with variable thickness of one of two stiff shells is considered. To describe kinematics of asymmetrical over thickness pack of the core the hypotheses of the broken normal are accepted.

Transport magnetic currents driven by moving kink crystal in chiral helimagnets

open access: yes, 2008
We show that the bulk transport magnetic current is generated by the moving magnetic kink crystal (chiral soliton lattice) formed in the chiral helimagnet under the static magnetic field applied perpendicular to the helical axis. The current is caused by

Organ‐specific redox imbalances in spinal muscular atrophy mice are partially rescued by SMN antisense oligonucleotides

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
We identified a systemic, progressive loss of protein S‐glutathionylation—detected by nonreducing western blotting—alongside dysregulation of glutathione‐cycle enzymes in both neuronal and peripheral tissues of Taiwanese SMA mice. These alterations were partially rescued by SMN antisense oligonucleotide therapy, revealing persistent redox imbalance as ...

Vibration of Circular Metal-Polymeric Plates on an Elastic Foundation under Heat Stroke

open access: yesМеханика машин, механизмов и материалов, 2009
The axisymmetrical vibrations of elastic circular three-layer metal-polymeric plate on en elastic foundation ander heat stroke are explored. For the kinematics description asymmetrical on the thickness of package accepted hypothesises broken normal ...

Theoretical monochromatic-wave-induced currents in intermediate water with viscosity and nonzero mass transport [PDF]

open access: yes
Wave-induced mass-transport current theories with both zero and nonzero net mass (or volume) transport of the water column are reviewed. A relationship based on the Longuet-Higgens theory is derived for wave-induced, nonzero mass-transport currents in ...

Transferrin receptor 1‐mediated iron uptake supports thermogenic activation in human cervical‐derived adipocytes

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
In this study, we found that human cervical‐derived adipocytes maintain intracellular iron level by regulating the expression of iron transport‐related proteins during adrenergic stimulation. Melanotransferrin is predicted to interact with transferrin receptor 1 based on in silico analysis.

Modeling of Mechanical Interaction of Reinforcement with Matrix Composite

open access: yesМеханика машин, механизмов и материалов, 2009
There is solved the problem on determination influence of contact parameters between composite reinforcement and a matrix on strengthening and stiffness of a supporting structure. It is executed on a finite element modelling basis.

The planar cell polarity protein Vangl2 interacts with the PDZ‐domains of Scribble but not with a unique PDZ‐like domain in Inturned

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Structural and biochemical characterisations show that the planar cell polarity (PCP) protein Inturned harbours a unique PDZ‐like domain that does not bind canonical PDZ‐binding motifs (PBMs) like that of another PCP protein Vangl2. In contrast, the apical‐basal polarity protein Scribble contains four PDZ domains that bind Vangl2, but one PDZ domain ...

Multiscale mass transport in z~6 galactic discs: fueling black holes

open access: yes, 2016
By using AMR cosmological hydrodynamic N-body zoom-in simulations, with the RAMSES code, we studied the mass transport processes onto galactic nuclei from high redshift up to $z\sim6$.
