Covariance Matrix Evaluations for Independent Mass Fission Yields
Nuclear Data Sheets, 2015Abstract Recent needs for more accurate fission product yields include covariance information to allow improved uncertainty estimations of the parameters used by design codes. The aim of this work is to investigate the possibility to generate more reliable and complete uncertainty information on independent mass fission yields.

Mass Spectrometer Ion Source with High Yield
Journal of Applied Physics, 1970An electron impact ion source suitable for use with a quadrupole mass filter is described. Ion formation occurs throughout a relatively large volume since no magnetic field collimation of the ionization electron stream is used. A sensitivity of 8 Torr−1 was obtained for an ion energy of 50 eV rising to a constant sensitivity of 12 Torr−1 for ion ...

Mass yield spectrum of cosmic-ray-produced xenon
Journal of Geophysical Research, 1966Results of a study of the isotopic composition of xenon have indicated that the two Ca-rich achondrites that comprise in toto the group of diopside-olivine achondritic meteorites (the nakhlites) contain only a very small amount of excess fission-produced xenon.

Circular Dichroism in Ion Yields of Femtosecond‐Laser Mass Spectrometry
ChemPhysChem, 2009AbstractTelling the difference quickly: Femtosecond laser pulses are not only suitable to distinguish structural isomers. They also provide access to the distinction of enantiomers by combination of circular dichroism and mass spectrometry (see picture).magnified ...

Outdoor algal mass cultures—II. Photosynthetic yield limitations
Water Research, 1979The photosynthetic conversion of sunlight energy into algal biomass in large-scale outdoor cultures is controlled by the availability of sunlight, the photosynthetic machinery of algae, nutrients, temperature and the design characteristics of the culture system. For the situation in which light is made the growth rate limiting factor, there is an upper

Mass yield distribution in proton-induced fission of238U
Il Nuovo Cimento A, 1996An analytical expression is obtained for the mass yield distribution in fission induced by high-energy protons (100–340 MeV) on238U. The reaction is treated within the context of a two-step model. In the first step, the proton hits the target, knocks out some of its nucleons, yielding a residual nucleus with a distribution of excitation energies.

Mass yields from thermal-neutron induced fission of 245CM
Journal of Inorganic and Nuclear Chemistry, 1972Abstract The fission yields of 21 mass chains were measured for the thermal-neutron induced fission of 245Cm. Fission product gamma activities from 245Cm were determined relative to those from 235U with a high resolution lithium-drifted germanium detector. The measured errors ranged from 1 to 10% over a mass number range of 85–147.

Mass yield from thermal neutron induced fission of 245Cm
Journal of Inorganic and Nuclear Chemistry, 1979Abstract Fission yields of nineteen mass chains have been determined for the thermal neutron induced fission of 245Cm. The yields have been determined relative to 235U thermal neutron fission yields, using radiochemical techniques as well as direct gamma ray counting using a Ge(Li) detector.

Mass Dependence of the Sputtering Yield –Boundary Effect
Journal of the Physical Society of Japan, 1978A simple model is used to study the dependence of the sputtering yield on the incident atomic number ( Z 1 ). Scatterings between incident and target atoms are classified into two types, that is, large and small angle scatterings. Large angle scatterings are represented by random walks with a certain energy loss and small angle scatterings by another ...
