Sodium Ascorbate‐Accelerated Gelling Hydrogels With Rapid Self‐Mineralized Capacity for Chronic Wounds

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
An immunoregulatory hydrogel based on sodium ascorbate (SA)‐accelerated gelation and in situ self‐mineralization is prepared here. Such a hydrogel is constructed by mixing benzaldehyde‐ and cyanoacetate‐functionalized dextran with silver nitrate (AgNO3) and SA, enabling the ultrafast solidification and in situ self‐mineralization of silver ...

Degranulating mast cells in fibrotic regions of human tumors and evidence that mast cell heparin interferes with the growth of tumor cells through a mechanism involving fibroblasts

open access: yesBMC Cancer, 2005
Background The purpose of this study was to test the hypothesis that mast cells that are present in fibrotic regions of cancer can suppress the growth of tumor cells through an indirect mechanism involving peri-tumoral fibroblasts.

Single‐Cell Reveal GALNT7‐Dependent Ferroptosis Suppression as a Mechanism of Immunotherapy Resistance in Non‐Small Cell Lung Cancer

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Integrated clinical and mechanistic analyses identify GALNT7 as a ferroptosis‐suppressive regulator associated with immunotherapy resistance in non‐small cell lung cancer. GALNT7 depletion promotes lipid peroxidation, mitochondrial dysfunction, and ferroptosis, enhances CD8+ T‐cell activation and IFN‐γ production, and sensitizes tumors to PD‐1 blockade,

HLA‐DR+ Schwann Cells Generate the Protumor Cancer‐Neuron‐Immune Niche in Head and Neck Squamous Cell Carcinoma

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Hijacked and educated by HNSCC cells, HLA‐DR+ Schwann cells lost their normal neural‐related functions but acquired immunoregulatory phenotypes to promote CD4+ T cells transform into Tregs. HLA‐DR+ Schwann cells induced a macrophage subpopulation, Il1β.

Mast Cell, the Neglected Member of the Tumor Microenvironment: Role in Breast Cancer

open access: yesJournal of Immunology Research, 2018
Mast cells are unique tissue-resident immune cells that secrete a diverse array of biologically active compounds that can stimulate, modulate, or suppress the immune response.

Tumor-Associated Mast Cells in Thyroid Cancer [PDF]

open access: yesInternational Journal of Endocrinology, 2015
There is compelling evidence that the tumor microenvironment plays a major role in mediating aggressive features of cancer cells, including invasive capacity and resistance to conventional and novel therapies. Among the different cell populations that infiltrate cancer stroma, mast cells (MCs) can influence several aspects of tumor biology, including ...

Targeting a Myeloid–Regulatory B Cell Network Reverses Immune Paralysis in Periprosthetic Joint Infections

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Periprosthetic joint infection establishes a sophisticated immunosuppressive network between CXCR4+ PMN‐MDSCs and Bregs, inducing profound CD8+ T cell paralysis. Alendronate effectively disrupts this CXCR4+ PMN‐MDSC–Breg axis by targeting STAT3, thereby restoring local immune surveillance.

Nanomaterials for Allergy Diagnosis and Treatment: Advances, Opportunities and Translational Challenges

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Nanomaterials offer dual applications in allergy management. For diagnosis, nanomaterials enhance analytical sensitivity and improve detection in specific IgE and functional assays such as the basophil activation test (BAT). For allergen‐specific immunotherapy, nanomaterials enable allergen masking and controlled release, and effectively modulate the ...

Epidemiological Aspects and Differential Diagnosis of the Cutaneous Round Cell Tumors in Dogs

open access: yesBulletin of University of Agricultural Sciences and Veterinary Medicine Cluj-Napoca: Veterinary Medicine, 2017
Round cell neoplasms (RCNs) are frequent cutaneous lesions in dogs, with high percentages among skin tumors. In this category are included histiocytoma, mast cell tumor, plasmacytoma, lymphoma and transmissible venereal tumor. The aim of the study was to

Neuron‐Derived MIF Engages VCAM1 to Fuel a Self‐Amplifying CXCL8 Loop That Drives Perineural Invasion and Metastasis in Gastric Cancer

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Neuron‐derived MIF binds VCAM1 on gastric cancer cells and activates ERK/STAT3 signaling, leading to CXCL8 transcription and secretion. Tumor‐derived CXCL8 subsequently stimulates neuronal CXCR2 to enhance MIF production, establishing a self‐amplifying MIF–VCAM1–CXCL8 positive‐feedback loop that promotes perineural invasion, tumor progression, and ...
