BDNF Haplotype and Personality Traits May Influence the Development of Alcohol Use Disorder in the Han Chinese Population. [PDF]

open access: yesAddict Biol
Genetic and personality factors jointly shape alcohol use disorder (AUD). We identified a BDNF haplotype associated with AUD and found that higher novelty seeking, harm avoidance and impulsivity characterise patients, especially early‐onset cases. These findings provide insights into AUD vulnerability.

Molecular and Histological Identification of Bovine Papillomavirus 1, 2 and a Novel Genotype in Cutaneous Papillomas of Dairy Cattle in Taiwan. [PDF]

open access: yesTransbound Emerg Dis
Bovine papillomaviruses (BPVs) are host‐specific and strongly epitheliotropic infectious agents that cause benign epithelial and mucosal proliferations, with potential for malignant transformation. However, BPV1, BPV2, and BPV5 are unique in their ability to infect both epithelial and connective tissues.

Molecular Phylogeny, Species Delimitation, and Biogeography of the Varunid Crab Genus Metaplax (Crustacea, Varunidae)

open access: yesZoologica Scripta, Volume 55, Issue 3, Page 504-518, May 2026.
ABSTRACT The Indo‐West Pacific genus Metaplax comprises 11 recognised species inhabiting intertidal mudflats, some adjacent to mangroves. To resolve long‐standing uncertainties, we analysed mitochondrial (COI, 16S) and nuclear (28S) markers. Phylogenetic analyses recovered Metaplax as monophyletic and resolved four well‐supported clades—the M ...
