Comparing conventional laparoscopic to robotic-assisted extended pelvic lymph node dissection in men with intermediate and high-risk prostate cancer: A matched-pair analysis

open access: yes, 2017
Background: In intermediate and high-risk prostate cancer patients, a robotic-assisted approach is increasingly being used for prostatectomy and extended pelvic lymph node dissection (ePLND).

Liquid biopsy‐based diagnostic evaluation of hypermethylated CpG sites for ovarian cancer diagnosis

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
This schematic outlines the workflow from biomarker identification to duplex MethyLight assay validation for epithelial ovarian cancer diagnosis using cfDNA‐based liquid biopsy. Initial screening of hypermethylated CpG candidates (cg02957270, cg10061138 cg00480298, COL2A1) was performed in tissue using ARMS‐PCR, COBRA, qPCR and image analysis. Selected

Epigenetic heterogeneity and plasticity in therapy‐induced tumor states through single‐cell multi‐omics

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Single‐cell multi‐omics reveals epigenetic heterogeneity across therapy‐adaptive tumor states, including quiescent/dormant, drug‐tolerant persister, and EMT‐like phenotypes. By linking regulatory features with state‐associated biomarkers, these approaches inform biomarker‐guided therapeutic strategies for evolving tumors.

Matched-pair analysis of [(177)Lu]Lu-PSMA I&T and [(177)Lu]Lu-PSMA-617 in patients with metastatic castration-resistant prostate cancer

open access: yes, 2022
BACKGROUND: Labelled with lutetium-177, the urea-based small molecules PSMA I&T and PSMA-617 are the two agents most frequently used for radioligand therapy (RLT) in patients with advanced metastatic castration-resistant and prostate-specific membrane ...

Inhibition of cyclin‐dependent kinases 12/13 using CT7439 as a treatment for colorectal cancer with CDK12 upregulation

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
The proposed mechanism of action for the CDK12/13 inhibitor and cyclin K degrader, CT7439. CDK12/13 inhibition interrupts transcription elongation, leading to increased DNA damage that results in cell death. This agent is a potentially novel treatment option for patients with colorectal cancer. Created in BioRender. Cyclin‐dependent kinase (CDK) 12 and

In vitro and in silico modelling of ROS1‐positive non‐small cell lung cancer reveals fusion‐dependent tyrosine kinase inhibitor responses

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Drug resistance limits treatment success in a subset of lung cancers driven by ROS1 gene alterations. Using patient‐derived cells and computer simulations, we studied three key mutations and how they affect five targeted drugs. The mutations reduced drug effectiveness in different ways by altering protein structure and behavior.

Hemiarthroplasty or osteosynthesis in cervical hip fractures: matched-pair analysis in 892 patients

open access: yes, 2002
Our aim was to compare hemiarthroplasty (HA) and osteosynthesis (OS) in the treatment of cervical hip fractures using matched-pair analysis, especially with regard to different age groups.

Comparison of the clinicoradiological features and outcomes of lymphoepithelioma-like cholangiocarcinoma and conventional intrahepatic cholangiocarcinoma: A propensity score matching analysis

open access: yesJournal of the Formosan Medical Association
Background/purpose: Lymphoepithelioma-like cholangiocarcinoma (LELCC) is a rare variant of intrahepatic cholangiocarcinoma (ICC). We aim to analyze the differences in the clinical and radiological features of LELCC and ICC.

On matched pair Hamiltonian analysis of the compartmental models

open access: yes, 2020
Epidemiological compartmental models predict the spread of an infectious disease that a specific population encounter. The population is divided into compartments representing different stages of the epidemic and the change of these compartments in time is given by nonlinear differential equations. In previous studies, the Hamiltonian analysis of these
