Maintenance of Stimuli Equivalence Classes: A Study with Students of Fundamental School

open access: yesPsicologia, 2009
The maintenance of equivalence classes is affected by many experimental variables. The present study aimed to investigate the effect of classes size on the formation and maintenance of the equivalence relations with students of the fundamental school (9 ...

Degradation mechanism of the von Willebrand factor A2 domain by nattokinase

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Nattokinase, a natto‐derived protease, exhibits potent antithrombotic effects. This study demonstrates that nattokinase directly cleaves the von Willebrand factor (vWF) A2 domain in vitro. Unlike the native regulator ADAMTS13, nattokinase degrades folded vWF independently of shear stress.

Feedback-driven event-related potentials in conditional discrimination: insights from a matching-to-sample study

open access: yesFrontiers in Human Neuroscience
This study examined differences in event-related potentials (ERP) associated with the presentation of programmed consequences during conditional discrimination training in a matching-to-sample (MTS) paradigm.

Modulation of Homer1 EVH1 domain internal dynamics by putative autism‐associated mutations

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
The putative autism‐associated M65I and S97L variants of the EVH1 domain of the postsynaptic scaffold protein Homer1 do not exhibit substantial changes in their overall structure or partner binding. Both of them, but especially the M65I variant, show altered internal dynamics relative to the wild‐type domain on the μs‐ms timescale, indicated by the ...

INSTRUCTIONAL EFFECTS ON PERFORMANCE IN A MATCHING‐TO‐SAMPLE STUDY [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of the Experimental Analysis of Behavior, 2008
Conducting studies using an undergraduate participant pool is fraught with difficulties. Among them are problems with adequately motivating subjects both to come to the study, and once there, to actively engage the experimental task. Thirty‐one college students participated in a matching‐to‐sample (MTS) study involving substantial training, testing ...

Bootstrap inference for K-nearest neighbour matching estimators [PDF]

open access: yes
Abadie and Imbens (2008, Econometrica) showed that classical bootstrap schemes fail to provide correct inference for K-nearest neighbour (KNN) matching estimators of average causal effects.

An unexpected alternative viologen electron mediator site in tungsten‐containing formate dehydrogenase

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
An unexpected alternative interaction site for ethyl viologen was identified in formate dehydrogenase 1 from Methylorubrum extorquens. Combined mutagenesis, kinetic analysis, and docking revealed that aromatic residues near an iron–sulfur cluster enable flavin mononucleotide‐independent electron transfer, offering a framework for engineering improved ...

MATCHING‐TO‐SAMPLE ACCURACY ON FIXED‐RATIO SCHEDULES [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of the Experimental Analysis of Behavior, 1979
Pigeons performing on a matching‐to‐sample procedure were exposed to six fixed‐ratio (FR) schedules (FR 1, 5, 10, 20, 40, and 60) of food reinforcement for correct matching responses. During both a correction and a noncorrection procedure without an intertrial interval (ITI), matching accuracy was lower on FR 1 and FR 60 than at intermediate ratios ...

Signalled Delay to Reinforcement in Delayed Matching to Sample

open access: yes, 2012
Five hens were trained on a delayed matching to sample task. The retention intervals started at 0.25 s and were gradually increased until they were 1 s, 2 s, 4 s and 8 s in each session. At the end of training the fifth response to the sample stimulus (

Same/different concept learning by capuchin monkeys in matching-to-sample tasks.

open access: yesPLoS ONE, 2011
The ability to understand similarities and analogies is a fundamental aspect of human advanced cognition. Although subject of considerable research in comparative cognition, the extent to which nonhuman species are capable of analogical reasoning is ...
