Non-linear forced vibration study of axially functionally graded non-uniform beams by using Broyden method [PDF]

open access: yes, 2014
In the forced vibration case due to external loading deflection tends to higher value so beam element undergoes the non-linearity behavior. Basically non linearity is categorized into two parts material and geometric non-linearity. Due to large amplitude

Nonlinear electromagnetic response of graphene: Frequency multiplication and the self-consistent-field effects

open access: yes, 2008
Graphene is a recently discovered carbon based material with unique physical properties. This is a monolayer of graphite, and the two-dimensional electrons and holes in it are described by the effective Dirac equation with a vanishing effective mass.

Plecstatin inhibits hepatocellular carcinoma tumorigenesis and invasion through cytolinker plectin

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
The ruthenium‐based metallodrug plecstatin exerts its anticancer effect in hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) primarily through selective targeting of plectin. By disrupting plectin‐mediated cytoskeletal organization, plecstatin inhibits anchorage‐dependent growth, cell polarization, and tumor cell dissemination.

Magnetoresistance in organic spintronic devices: the role of nonlinear effects

open access: yes, 2015
We derive kinetic equations describing injection and transport of spin polarized carriers in organic semiconductors with hopping conductivity via an impurity level.

A finite element modelling methodology for the non-linear stiffness evaluation of adhesively bonded single lap-joints. Part 2, Novel shell mesh to minimise analysis time [PDF]

open access: yes, 2012
A new modelling methodology is presented that enables the stiffness of adhesively bonded single lap-joints to be included in the finite element analysis of whole vehicle bodies. This work was driven by the need to significantly reduce computing resources

Circular RNA expression landscapes in myelodysplastic neoplasms: Associations with mutational signatures and disease progression

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
In this explorative study, the abundance of circular RNA molecules in bone marrow stem cells was found to be elevated in patients with high‐risk myelodysplastic neoplasms, and to be associated with an increased risk of progression to acute myeloid leukemia.

Amorphous Metal Oxide Bilayers to Avoid Sneak‐Path Currents for High‐Density Resistive Memory Arrays

open access: yesAdvanced Intelligent Systems, 2021
Resistance switching devices are potential candidates for future memory applications. However, sneak‐path current issues in crossbar array cause energy and heat dissipation, and it requires additional circuitry for mitigation.

Non-linear modeling of active biohybrid materials [PDF]

open access: yesInternational Journal of Non-Linear Mechanics, 2013
Recent advances in engineered muscle tissue attached to a synthetic substrate motivates the development of appropriate constitutive and numerical models. Applications of active materials can be expanded by using robust, non-mammalian muscle cells, such as those of Manduca sexta.

Colorectal cancer‐derived FGF19 is a metabolically active serum biomarker that exerts enteroendocrine effects on mouse liver

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Meta‐transcriptome analysis identified FGF19 as a peptide enteroendocrine hormone associated with colorectal cancer prognosis. In vivo xenograft models showed release of FGF19 into the blood at levels that correlated with tumor volumes. Tumoral‐FGF19 altered murine liver metabolism through FGFR4, thereby reducing bile acid synthesis and increasing ...
